Union Minister of Communications Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia inaugurated the 3rd International Bharat 6G Symposium 2026 in New Delhi, organised by the Bharat 6G Alliance (B6GA). During the event, the Bharat 6G Alliance exchanged five new Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with organizations including GSMA, one6G Association, GTI Alliance Ltd, 6G Industry Forum (6GIF), and VoICE, bringing its total partnership network to 17 collaborations. The Department of School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Education, organized a nationwide screening of a 30-minute Sensitization and Orientation Module on Inclusive Education for Children with Special Needs (CwSN) via the PRASHAST portal. Over 60,000 schools participated, and more than 72 lakh teachers have been sensitized over the past three months. The module is available in 12 Indian languages and targets all school personnel to promote a whole-school approach to inclusion. PRASHAST serves as a digital tool for identifying probable disabilities under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (RPwD) Act, 2016, aligning with the goals of the National Education Policy, 2020.

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has released a document titled ‘Wildlife Mitigation Measures & Structures’ during National Wildlife Week (2nd–8th October 2026). The document highlights NHAI's approach to balancing infrastructure development with environmental sustainability and wildlife conservation. Over the last five years, approximately Rs. 19,700 crores have been invested in wildlife mitigation infrastructure and environmental protection measures across National Highway projects. More than 2,150 wildlife mitigation structures—including animal underpasses, overpasses, viaducts, tunnels, bridges, and canopy crossings—have been constructed or proposed. Additionally, non-structural measures such as guide fencing, noise barriers, camera trapping, and speed-regulation signages are implemented to minimize habitat fragmentation and wildlife-vehicle collisions.

The Department of Telecommunications hosted the Ministerial Programme at India Mobile Congress 2026 under the theme "Scale Without Boundaries: Investing in the Next Billion Digital Connections." According to a recent assessment and the Ayush Service Sector Report released on Ayurveda Day 2026, women account for 43 percent of the overall Ayush services workforce, with representation exceeding 50 percent in hospitals, day-care centres, educational institutes, and wellness establishments. The Ayush services economy—covering Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, Sowa-Rigpa, and Homoeopathy—was valued at US$36.92 billion in FY2024-25, registering a 16.91 percent CAGR since FY2022-23, and directly supporting 1.76 million livelihoods. Standalone clinics and day-care centres together contribute over 70 percent of sector revenue, while Ayurveda is the largest individual system. The sector is further projected to expand significantly toward Viksit Bharat@2047, driven by preventive health demand, medical value travel, and expanding organised segments.

The Indian Coast Guard conducted the 12th National Maritime Search and Rescue Exercise (SAREX-2026) off the Paradip coast in Odisha under the National Maritime Search and Rescue Board. Held with the theme “Leveraging Technology to Strengthen SAR Preparedness and Maritime Safety,” the exercise tested operational readiness, interoperability, and coordinated responses for mass rescue operations. The Union Minister of State for Textiles inaugurated a newly constructed Grainage Building and Cold Storage facility at the CSB-Silkworm Seed Production Centre in Jorhat, Assam. Established under the North-East Region Textile Promotion Scheme, the facility is designed to produce 30 lakh Disease-Free Layings of mulberry hybrid seed annually and preserve up to 1 crore DFLs. The Union Minister for Communications chaired a CEO Round Table titled 'The Sovereign Inflection & The Future of Telecom' during the 10th India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2026. The Ministry of Communications stated that India’s regulatory framework for satellite communication services is fair and non-discriminatory, dismissing social media claims to the contrary. According to the government, telecom licences have been granted to three Global Mobile Personal Communication by Satellite services based on non-geosynchronous satellite orbits. All licensees are required to comply with security conditions to ensure user and data safety, and security assessments are currently underway for all three entities. Once this assessment is completed, licensees may proceed to seek spectrum assignment, placing all three entities at broadly the same regulatory stage.

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), India has taken suo motu cognizance of media reports concerning the alleged sexual harassment of three women journalists by Delhi Police personnel.
