According to a recent assessment and the Ayush Service Sector Report released on Ayurveda Day 2026, women account for 43 percent of the overall Ayush services workforce, with representation exceeding 50 percent in hospitals, day-care centres, educational institutes, and wellness establishments. The Ayush services economy—covering Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, Sowa-Rigpa, and Homoeopathy—was valued at US$36.92 billion in FY2024-25, registering a 16.91 percent CAGR since FY2022-23, and directly supporting 1.76 million livelihoods. Standalone clinics and day-care centres together contribute over 70 percent of sector revenue, while Ayurveda is the largest individual system. The sector is further projected to expand significantly toward Viksit Bharat@2047, driven by preventive health demand, medical value travel, and expanding organised segments.

The Union Minister for Jal Shakti, Shri C. R. Paatil, chaired the 20th Meeting of the Empowered Task Force (ETF) on Ganga Rejuvenation in New Delhi to review the progress of the Namami Gange Programme. The meeting evaluated key interventions including sewage infrastructure development, scientific water management, safe reuse of treated wastewater, ecological restoration, and groundwater management. Union Minister of Communications Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia inaugurated the 3rd International Bharat 6G Symposium 2026 in New Delhi, organised by the Bharat 6G Alliance (B6GA). During the event, the Bharat 6G Alliance exchanged five new Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with organizations including GSMA, one6G Association, GTI Alliance Ltd, 6G Industry Forum (6GIF), and VoICE, bringing its total partnership network to 17 collaborations. The Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare launched JOSH (Joint Squad for Health) Teams under the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan to accelerate youth-led community action for tuberculosis elimination. Implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports and the Ministry of Defence, the initiative combines MY Bharat volunteers and NCC cadets under a designated Class-I officer at the block/ward level. In its first phase, JOSH Teams have been deployed across 55 districts in 11 States and UTs, with a nationwide rollout planned. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has released a document titled ‘Wildlife Mitigation Measures & Structures’ during National Wildlife Week (2nd–8th October 2026). The document highlights NHAI's approach to balancing infrastructure development with environmental sustainability and wildlife conservation. Over the last five years, approximately Rs. 19,700 crores have been invested in wildlife mitigation infrastructure and environmental protection measures across National Highway projects. More than 2,150 wildlife mitigation structures—including animal underpasses, overpasses, viaducts, tunnels, bridges, and canopy crossings—have been constructed or proposed. Additionally, non-structural measures such as guide fencing, noise barriers, camera trapping, and speed-regulation signages are implemented to minimize habitat fragmentation and wildlife-vehicle collisions.

The Prime Minister welcomed the new round of GST reforms approved by the GST Council. He noted that the recommendations—which include the removal of arrest provisions, greater decriminalization, and simplified procedures—will positively impact taxpayers and businesses. The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), India has taken suo motu cognizance of media reports concerning the alleged sexual harassment of three women journalists by Delhi Police personnel. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is scheduled to participate in the valedictory session and address the Departmental Summit on Women and Child Development on 9th October 2026 at Sushma Swaraj Bhawan, New Delhi. The two-day summit, held on 8–9 October 2026, involves political leadership and officials from all States. It is the second in a series of departmental summits intended to foster cooperative federalism, collective ownership of national priorities, and Centre-State collaboration. The event centers on four themes: reimagining Anganwadi Centres for nutrition and early education, strengthening child protection systems, ensuring women's safety through institutional and legislative frameworks, and advancing women's empowerment via key schemes.

The Ministry of Communications stated that India’s regulatory framework for satellite communication services is fair and non-discriminatory, dismissing social media claims to the contrary. According to the government, telecom licences have been granted to three Global Mobile Personal Communication by Satellite services based on non-geosynchronous satellite orbits. All licensees are required to comply with security conditions to ensure user and data safety, and security assessments are currently underway for all three entities. Once this assessment is completed, licensees may proceed to seek spectrum assignment, placing all three entities at broadly the same regulatory stage.
