Union Health Minister Shri J.P. Nadda Launches JOSH Teams to Accelerate Youth-Led TB Elimination Efforts
The Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare launched JOSH (Joint Squad for Health) Teams under the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan to accelerate youth-led community action for tuberculosis elimination. Implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports and the Ministry of Defence, the initiative combines MY Bharat volunteers and NCC cadets under a designated Class-I officer at the block/ward level. In its first phase, JOSH Teams have been deployed across 55 districts in 11 States and UTs, with a nationwide rollout planned. Additionally, new digital and IEC initiatives—including the Khushi Avatar e-Sangini service in 12 languages, a dedicated mobile application feature, and flipbooks—were introduced. The event also recognized 67,933 Panchayats across 697 districts as TB Mukt in 2026.
