Text of PM’s address at the inauguration of 10th edition of the India Mobile Congress

The Prime Minister addressed the inauguration of the 10th edition of the India Mobile Congress, highlighting the evolution of India's telecom sector, digital connectivity, and good governance over the past decade. The address noted that 5G connectivity has reached every district in India with over 5.5 lakh base stations, and mobile internet speeds have increased tenfold since 2022. The speech emphasized how affordable mobile phones and data have democratized technology, fostered digital learning via platforms like DIKSHA, and enabled direct benefit transfers (DBT) to eliminate leakages. Furthermore, the Prime Minister highlighted the growth of the gaming and content creation ecosystems, the necessity of global cybersecurity frameworks against cyber fraud and deepfakes, and ongoing regulatory and manufacturing reforms including the Tele-communications Act and the India Semiconductor Mission.
