According to quick estimates released by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, India's cumulative exports of merchandise and services for April–September 2026–27 are estimated at US$ 476.20 billion, reflecting an estimated growth of 13.84% compared to US$ 418.31 billion in April–September 2025–26. Cumulative merchandise exports reached US$ 259.89 billion, while cumulative merchandise imports touched US$ 437.53 billion. For the single month of September 2026, total combined exports were estimated at US$ 80.75 billion and total imports at US$ 94.05 billion. The Ministry of Defence has signed contracts totaling approximately Rs 4,106 crore to procure the GSAT-7C communication satellite for the Indian Air Force and Varunastra Heavy Weight Torpedoes for the Indian Navy. The Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education, organized an Orientation-cum-Review Workshop in Bhopal on the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS). The workshop focused on reviewing implementation progress, training officials on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP), and addressing verification challenges. The Ministry emphasized timely student registration by October 31, 2026, and application verification at Institute Nodal Officer and District Nodal Officer levels by November 15 and November 30, 2026, respectively.
