Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh addressed a Defence Conclave in New Delhi, stating that Operation Sindoor, the Balakot Airstrikes, and Surgical Strikes mark a decisive shift from diplomatic condemnation to proactive counter-terrorism actions at the source. He warned of emerging security challenges, specifically identifying the '5D Security Threat' (Disinformation, Destabilisation, Disruption, Deception, and Destruction), 'lone-wolf' attacks, and 'white-collar terrorism,' while calling for a 'smart power' approach that merges hard and soft power, advanced weaponry, and artificial intelligence. Furthermore, he highlighted major milestones in domestic defense manufacturing, pointing out that defense production has risen significantly, defense exports have reached all-time highs, and initiatives like iDEX, positive indigenisation lists, and defense procurement reforms are driving the vision of an Aatmanirbhar (self-reliant) defense ecosystem.
