Ministry of Education organises Orientation-cum-Review Workshop on National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS) to Strengthen Scholarship Implementation and Verification Processes

The Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education, organized an Orientation-cum-Review Workshop in Bhopal on the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS). The workshop focused on reviewing implementation progress, training officials on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP), and addressing verification challenges. The Ministry emphasized timely student registration by October 31, 2026, and application verification at Institute Nodal Officer and District Nodal Officer levels by November 15 and November 30, 2026, respectively. The NMMSS is a Central Sector Scheme providing an annual scholarship of ₹12,000 to meritorious students from economically weaker sections to prevent dropouts after Class VIII and support their education up to Class XII.
