The Ministry of Rural Development announced the commencement of Deen Dayal Upadhyaya-Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) 2.0 training batches across most States and UTs starting October 2026. Initially, 34,920 rural youth across 1,164 batches will begin training under 14 reviewed States and UTs, against a sanctioned target of 3,57,112 youth up to December 2027. DDU-GKY is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme providing placement-linked skill training for poor rural youth with durations ranging from 3 to 12 months. The implementation leverages the integrated DDU-GKY 2.0 portal for end-to-end digital monitoring, with regional workshops planned across four locations in October 2026.

The National Land Monetization Corporation Limited (NLMC) held its 21st Board Meeting to review its asset monetisation programme, financial performance, and institutional initiatives. The Board recommended monetisation proposals exceeding ₹5,000 crore involving surplus land and building assets of Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) and other Government entities. Furthermore, the Board approved NLMC's Annual Financial Statements and Directors’ Report for the financial year 2025–26, while emphasizing the need for accelerated, transparent, and value-oriented asset monetisation in alignment with Government of India objectives.

Indian Railways has approved an allocation of ₹252 crore to implement Kavach Version 4.0 across 607.7 Route Kilometres in the Lucknow Division of the North Eastern Railway. This project aims to extend indigenous Automatic Train Protection coverage to strengthen safety infrastructure and modernise train protection systems. Kavach is an indigenously developed system designed to prevent Signal Passing at Danger, automatically apply brakes when necessary, and support safer train operations.

The Ministry of Ayush is advancing Artificial Intelligence within Ayurveda and traditional medicine by building on the Ayush Grid. NLC India Limited (NLCIL), a Navratna enterprise under the Ministry of Coal, is expanding its mining and power generation capacities to support India's energy security, decarbonisation, and Panchamrit climate goals. The enterprise plans to increase its mining capacity to 104.35 MTPA by 2030 and 115.85 MTPA by 2047, while shifting towards High-Efficiency, Low-Emission (HELE) thermal power projects such as Ghatampur, Talabira, and Machhakatta. The Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas has announced that Biometric Aadhaar Authentication (BAA) will become mandatory starting October 1, 2026, for domestic LPG consumers to book refills at the regulated Retail Selling Price with applicable subsidy. The measure aims to ensure subsidies reach genuine households, prevent the diversion of cylinders, and remove duplicate or ineligible connections. As of September 19, 2026, over 27.43 crore consumers (89.9 percent) have completed BAA. Authentication can be performed during delivery, at distributor showrooms, or via Oil Marketing Company (OMC) mobile applications. The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment is implementing the Pradhan Mantri Anusuchit Jaati Abhyuday Yojana (PM-AJAY) as a merged Centrally Sponsored Scheme since 2021-22, combining three erstwhile schemes: Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana, Special Central Assistance to Scheduled Castes Sub Plan, and Babu Jagjivan Ram Chhatrawas Yojana. The keel laying ceremony for the first Next Generation Missile Vessel (NGMV) for the Indian Navy was held at Cochin Shipyard Limited, Kochi, on September 18, 2026.
