The article highlights the importance of balancing 'Seva' (service) to address immediate societal needs with 'Sankalp' (resolve) to fulfill long-term future aspirations. NITI Aayog implemented the 'Swachhata Hi Seva' campaign from 17th September to 2nd October, 2026, leading up to Swachh Bharat Diwas. Organized by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs and the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation to mark 12 years of the Swachh Bharat Mission under the theme "Swachhata Mein Sahbhag, Swachh Bharat, Viksit Bharat," NITI Aayog undertook activities including record room inspection, file reviewing, weeding out, digitization, scrap disposal, and office-wide awareness campaigns. Staff also participated in cleanliness drives across office floors, deep cleaning of the departmental canteen, taking the Swachhta Pledge administered by the Vice Chairman, and a Shramdaan cleanliness drive on 1st October, 2026.

Union Secretary of the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment inaugurated a Five-Day Geriatric Care Training Programme in the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli & Daman and Diu. Organized by the National Institute of Social Defence in collaboration with the Office of the Collector, Diu, the programme aims to build the capacity of Anganwadi workers and frontline functionaries in basic geriatric care, early identification of care needs, and referral support. The initiative focuses on addressing the evolving needs of an ageing population, assisting with daily living activities, promoting government schemes, and strengthening community-based support systems for senior citizens.

The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting has launched Special Campaign 6.0 starting from October 2, 2026, involving 610 offices nationwide. The initiative focuses on enhancing cleanliness, reducing pendency, and managing e-waste effectively in government offices. During the preparatory phase, targets were finalized and space management planned. Union Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw instructed that the campaign should extend beyond October 31, 2026, to become a year-round drive, prioritizing public-dealing offices. Since the inception of the Special Campaign in 2021, the Ministry reported cumulative achievements including ₹36.20 crore in revenue generation, disposal of 13.89 lakh kg of scrap, freeing 13.98 lakh square feet of space, weeding out 2.71 lakh physical files, conducting 6,642 outdoor campaigns, and cleaning 15,496 spots.

The Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD) is implementing Special Campaign 6 (2–31 October 2026) to reduce pendency, improve record management, free office space, and ensure responsible e-waste disposal, following guidelines from the Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances (DARPG). Building on previous efforts from Special Campaign 5.0, the current phase involves reviewing physical and e-files, conducting cleanliness campaigns across offices and subordinate institutions like SVNIRTAR, and addressing public grievances, MP references, Parliamentary Assurances, and PMO references.

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) released the findings of an Independent Drive Test (IDT) conducted in August 2026 across the Kathgodam to Dehradun railway route under the UP West LSA. Supervised by the TRAI Regional Office Bhopal, the test evaluated real-time mobile network service quality (both voice and data) provided by major Telecom Service Providers (TSPs) including Airtel, BSNL, RJIL, and VIL. The assessment covered parameters such as coverage gaps, dropped calls, call setup success rates, and data download and upload throughput across locations like Haldwani, Rudrapur City, Rampur, Moradabad, and Haridwar.

Union Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw launched the World Bank Group’s 'World Development Report 2026: The Promise of Artificial Intelligence' in New Delhi, hosted jointly by the IndiaAI Mission, MeitY, and the World Bank Group. The report sets a framework for developing economies to harness AI through adoption, adaptation, and advancement, noting its potential to raise productivity, improve service delivery, and widen access to expertise. Discussions at the event highlighted India's domestic implementations—such as the IndiaAI Mission's seven pillars, AgriStack, and state-level innovations in health, agriculture, and education—as case studies for the Global South.

Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh stated that opening India's space sector to private players and startups (such as Skyroot) has created new opportunities for young talent domestically and helped reduce brain drain. Speaking at the NaMo Book Fest in Varanasi, he noted that India's space economy has reached approximately USD 9 billion and could potentially expand to USD 45–46 billion in the next 8–10 years. The Minister highlighted that space applications now extend beyond rockets and missions into infrastructure planning, project monitoring, disaster management, and aiding neighbouring countries like Nepal, Bangladesh, Myanmar, and Sri Lanka. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated the 10th edition of the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2026 at Yashobhoomi, New Delhi, held under the theme “Scale Without Boundaries.” Jointly organised by the Department of Telecommunications and the Cellular Operators Association of India, the forum convenes global policymakers, innovators, and industry leaders. Government officials highlighted achievements in the telecom sector, including the nationwide expansion of 5G with over 5,50,000 base stations, a tenfold increase in mobile internet speeds since 2022, and growth to over 1.35 billion telecom subscribers. Union Minister of State for Communications Dr Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani highlighted India's telecom achievements and outlined future priorities at the CTO Round Table during IMC 2026. The Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Ministry of Communications, hosted a high-level Roundtable Conference with State IT Ministers and Secretaries on the sidelines of the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2026. The National SC-ST Hub (NSSH), launched on 18 October 2016 and implemented through the National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC), provides focused support to Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) owned Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). The scheme addresses key enterprise barriers through finance, technology, training, mentoring, and market linkages, connecting SC/ST-owned MSEs with public procurement opportunities. As of 31 July 2026, NSSH has assisted 1,90,414 beneficiaries and trained 54,499 candidates, with procurement from SC/ST-owned MSEs increasing to ₹4,013.42 crore in 2025-26. Key interventions include the Special Credit Linked Capital Subsidy Scheme (SCLCSS), Single Point Registration Scheme (SPRS), Special Marketing Assistance Scheme (SMAS), and various reimbursement schemes for bank loans, testing fees, bank guarantees, and e-commerce portal memberships.

The Ministry of Cooperation organised the 9th National Review Workshop in Bastar, Chhattisgarh, under the theme 'Sahkar se Samriddhi — The Road Ahead: Scaling Impact through Cooperative Transformation'. The workshop reviewed progress on major initiatives including PACS computerisation, the World's Largest Grain Storage Plan, cooperative banking, and national bodies such as NCEL, NCOL, and BBSSL. The Union Minister for Jal Shakti, Shri C. R. Paatil, chaired the 20th Meeting of the Empowered Task Force (ETF) on Ganga Rejuvenation in New Delhi to review the progress of the Namami Gange Programme. The Union Minister of State for Power and New & Renewable Energy represented India at the 20th East Asia Summit (EAS) Energy Ministers' Meeting held in Manila, Philippines. India highlighted its commitment to regional energy cooperation, security, and sustainable energy under its Act East Policy and ASEAN partnership. Key highlights included progress in India's power sector—such as achieving 558.8 GW of installed capacity by September 2026, with non-fossil capacity making up 55%—and advancements under the PM Surya Ghar scheme. India also discussed a proposed 2,000 MW cross-border power interconnection with Singapore involving a 3,000 km transmission corridor, and expressed readiness to share expertise in renewable energy, grid integration, green hydrogen, and clean technologies.

According to a recent assessment and the Ayush Service Sector Report released on Ayurveda Day 2026, women account for 43 percent of the overall Ayush services workforce, with representation exceeding 50 percent in hospitals, day-care centres, educational institutes, and wellness establishments. The Ayush services economy—covering Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, Sowa-Rigpa, and Homoeopathy—was valued at US$36.92 billion in FY2024-25, registering a 16.91 percent CAGR since FY2022-23, and directly supporting 1.76 million livelihoods. Standalone clinics and day-care centres together contribute over 70 percent of sector revenue, while Ayurveda is the largest individual system. The sector is further projected to expand significantly toward Viksit Bharat@2047, driven by preventive health demand, medical value travel, and expanding organised segments.
