The 19th Urban Mobility India (UMI) Conference and Exhibition 2026 concluded in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, held under the theme 'Urban Accessibility and Liveability in Digital Age'. The review focused on in-situ and ex-situ utilisation infrastructure, sector-wise nodal officer compliance for industrial fuel usage, timely field-level access to machinery through Custom Hiring Centres, and intensified preventive actions in high-incidence districts like Tarn Taran. The National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (NICDC) launched Bihar Integrated Manufacturing City Gaya Limited (BIMCGL) at Bodh Gaya, alongside the curtain raiser of Bihar Business Connect 2027. BIMCGL is a Special Purpose Vehicle formed as a joint venture between the Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority and the National Industrial Corridor Development and Implementation Trust to implement the Integrated Manufacturing Cluster (IMC) at Gaya under the Amritsar–Kolkata Industrial Corridor. The event witnessed the signing of 12 MoUs worth around ₹4,200 crore. The Digital India BHASHINI Division (DIBD) showcased its multilingual artificial intelligence solutions at the 29th International Symposium on Electronic Theses and Dissertations (ETD-2026) held at IIT Delhi. BHASHINI explored collaborations with higher education institutions and research repositories—such as Shodhganga—to expand access to theses, dissertations, and scholarly content across Indian languages. The Union Minister for Railways and the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh inaugurated the Satna-Devendranagar (53 km) and Rewa-Churhat (65 km) rail sections, along with a new Devendranagar-Churhat passenger train service. Following an announcement by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, a three-day specialized training program for Civil Defence Master Trainers is scheduled across 12 States and UTs in the first phase by November 2026. A total of 600 Master Trainers will be trained by the Indian Army, who will subsequently train 100 volunteers each, creating a cascading mechanism to reach 60,000 Civil Defence Volunteers. The training focuses on threat awareness (including modern warfare, drones, and air-raid threats), protection and emergency response (such as CBRN awareness, search and rescue, and critical infrastructure protection), and communication and coordination.
