The Ministry of Labour & Employment launched the eShram portal (eshram.gov.in) on 26 August 2021 to create a National Database of Unorganised Workers (NDUW). As of the release date, 31.82 crore unorganised workers—including platform and migrant workers—have been registered and assigned a Universal Account Number (UAN) on a self‑declaration basis. On 21 October 2024, the eShram “One‑Stop‑Solution” was introduced, integrating fifteen central schemes such as PMSV‑ANidhi, PMSBY, PMJJBY, PM‑KISAN, PMAY‑G, AB‑PMJAY, and ONORC. Registrations require Aadhaar‑based eKYC, with key personal fields fetched directly from UIDAI. Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, together with Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, will convene a Telecom Manufacturing Zone (TMZ) Investors Meet in Mumbai on 4 August 2026. Union Health Minister Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda chaired a high‑level meeting to examine the expansion of Project SARATHI, a youth‑led patient‑assistance initiative, across hospitals and medical institutions. The venture, backed by a ₹15 crore grant from the Venture Capital Fund for Scheduled Castes (VCF‑SC) in 2022, boasts a water‑circulation capacity of 36 lakh litres and an annual production capacity of 360 tonnes. At the 4th Global Industrial Relations Summit in New Delhi, Union Labour Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya said that India’s social protection systems now cover about 101 crore people – roughly 68 % of the population – a figure highlighted by the International Labour Organization (ILO) at the recent BRICS Labour Ministers’ Meeting. The Ministry of Ayush and IndiaAI (MeitY) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to promote AI‑driven innovation in the Ayush sector. The MoU, signed by Dr. Kavita Jain (Joint Secretary, Ayush) and Shri Sudeep Srivastava (COO, IndiaAI, Joint Secretary, MeitY), aims to integrate AI across research, medicinal‑plant studies, drug administration and capacity‑building. Under the agreement, Ayush will onboard the AIKosh platform to share eligible health‑research artefacts such as datasets, metadata, AI models and toolkits. The Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) scheme, now a component of the SAMBAL vertical of Mission Shakti, has been expanded to all districts across India to promote behavioural change toward the girl child. According to the latest Health Management Information System data, the national Sex Ratio at Birth rose from 918 (2014‑15) to 929 (2025‑26 provisional), and Delhi’s SRB improved from 901 to 915 in the same period. The UDISE data show the national Gross Enrolment Ratio of girls at secondary level increased from 75.51% to 83.4%, while Delhi’s GER rose from 99.13% to 108.3% (2025‑26). The Ministry of Women and Child Development will observe World Breastfeeding Week 2026 from 1 – 7 August nationwide. The week‑long campaign aims to raise awareness among families, communities and healthcare providers about early initiation of breastfeeding within the first hour after birth (the ‘Golden Hour’), exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months, and continued breastfeeding up to two years alongside appropriate complementary feeding. The Ministry highlights the health benefits for infants—survival, growth and cognitive development—and for mothers, including postpartum recovery and reduced risk of breast and ovarian cancers, type‑2 diabetes and postpartum depression. It urges mothers to seek support from ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers and other health professionals.

The Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES) reports that the Government is upgrading climate monitoring and weather forecasting systems using high‑performance computing, high‑resolution numerical weather prediction (NWP) models and AI/ML tools. The observation network includes manual stations, Automatic Weather Stations, Automated Rain Gauges, Agro‑AWS, Doppler Weather Radars, upper‑air observatories and satellites such as INSAT‑3DR, INSAT‑3DS and Oceansat‑3. Under Mission Mausam, global models (GFS, Mithuna‑FS) run at 12 km resolution, while the Bharat Forecasting System (BharatFS) operates at 6 km resolution to deliver Panchayat‑level forecasts via platforms like e‑Gramswaraj and Mausamgram. Three AI‑based global models (Pangu Weather, FourCastNet, GraphCast) are operational, and indigenous AI/ML tools support nowcasting and urban forecasting. Satellite‑based remote sensing, in partnership with ISRO, monitors cyclogenesis and Himalayan glacier dynamics.

The Ministry of Electronics & IT announced a multi‑pronged roadmap under the Semicon India Programme (Semicon 2.0) to create a semiconductor talent pipeline covering design, manufacturing and advanced packaging. Initiatives include the Chips to Startup (C2S) programme offering free access to EDA tools (over 240 lakh tool‑hours used), the SMART Lab at NIELIT Calicut training more than 1 lakh engineers in VLSI, Embedded Systems and IoT, and the establishment of an ATMP training laboratory at NIELIT Guwahati. Over 68,000 individuals have been skilled in chip design and 175 designs have been taped out. The Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas stated that the Ethanol Blended Petrol (EBP) programme’s rollout of the E20 blend was carried out after scientific validation and extensive stakeholder consultation involving NITI Aayog, automobile manufacturers, OMCs, ARAI, SIAM, IIP and other technical bodies. Laboratory studies and field trials by these agencies examined engine durability, drivability, startability, corrosion resistance, material compatibility, emissions and fuel efficiency, concluding that E20 is safe for legacy vehicles. The government cited large‑scale experience – about 8 crore vehicles daily, with over 20 crore two‑wheelers and 3 crore cars operating on E15‑E20 blends for more than two years – without evidence of widespread engine failure or abnormal wear. Manufacturers continue to honour warranties for vehicles using E20, reinforcing confidence in its safety and reliability.

The Ministry of Earth Sciences, through the India Meteorological Department (IMD), reported that no suitable site could be identified in Lahaul and Spiti Valley for an X‑Band Doppler Weather Radar (DWR) because of severe beam blockage, leading to the relocation of the planned radar to another part of the country. The state currently operates three X‑Band DWRs at Kufri, Jot and Murari Devi. IMD has also established a network in Himachal Pradesh comprising 24 Automatic Weather Stations (AWS), 4 Agro‑AWS and 66 Automatic Rain Gauge Stations (ARG). In Lahaul & Spiti and Kinnaur districts, ten AWS/ARG stations are operational, with specific locations listed in the release.
