8 Days Shilp Samagam Mela 2026 To Begin in Guwahati Tomorrow

The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment is organizing an eight-day Shilp Samagam Mela 2026 in Guwahati, Assam, from October until October 28. The event features 75 artisans, including 31 women, showcasing around 40 varieties of handloom and handicraft products. The Mela aims to provide a platform for artisans belonging to Scheduled Castes, Other Backward Classes, Safai Mitras, and Denotified Tribes to exhibit products directly to consumers, enhance market access, and foster entrepreneurship. It highlights initiatives like the Traditional Artisans’ Upliftment Livelihood Programme (BHARAT-TULIP) and supports beneficiaries of three National Corporations: NSFDC, NSKFDC, and NBCFDC.
