8 Days Shilp Samagam Mela 2026 Begins in Guwahati Today

The 8-day Shilp Samagam Mela 2026 began in Guwahati, Assam, organized by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. Running until October 28, the event features 75 artisans, including 31 women, showcasing around 40 varieties of handloom and handicraft products. The mela aims to promote market access, entrepreneurship, and sustainable livelihoods for artisans belonging to Scheduled Castes, Other Backward Classes, Safai Mitras, and Denotified Tribes. The event highlights initiatives like the BHARAT-TULIP programme and is supported by three national corporations: NSFDC, NSKFDC, and NBCFDC.
