Indian Railways has approved a ₹976 crore multitracking project on the 29 km Danapur‑Fatuha section of East Central Railway in Bihar. The work includes laying third and fourth lines between Danapur‑Patna, Rajendra Nagar‑Patna Saheb, and Patna Saheb‑Fatuha, aiming to decongest the busy Patna rail corridor. Indian Railways has approved a new daily Express train (Train No. 15087/15088) linking Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus in Mumbai with Sawantwadi Road, covering a 510‑km stretch of the Konkan corridor. The service will stop at 22 stations including Dadar, Thane, Panvel, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg and Kudal, providing direct connectivity for passengers travelling for tourism, education, employment and business. The Ministry of Defence announced the launch of DSC A24, the fifth vessel of the Diving Support Craft (DSC) project, on 1 August 2026 at Titagarh, Kolkata. The catamaran‑hull ships, with a displacement of about 300‑400 tons, are built by M/s Titagarh Rail Systems Limited (TRSL) in accordance with the Indian Register of Shipping rules. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has launched a Multi-Lane Free Flow (MLFF) tolling system at Shahjahanpur Toll Plaza on the Delhi‑Jaipur stretch of NH‑48 in Rajasthan. This is the third toll plaza on the corridor to adopt MLFF, enabling vehicles to pass without stopping by integrating Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) with FASTag-based electronic toll collection. The Review Committees of the Railway Board, Ministry of Railways have recommended premature retirement of five Group ‘A’ officers—two SAG officers of IRHS, one JAG officer of IRSE (Northern Railway), one officer of IRSEE (Northern Railway), and one JAG officer of IRTS (Western Railway)—in public interest under Rule 1802(a) of the Indian Railway Establishment Code, Volume II (equivalent to Rule 56(j) of the Fundamental Rules). Indian Railways has approved extending the daily Ludhiana‑Jakhal Passenger (Train No. 54053/54054) up to Jind station under Northern Railway. On 1 August 2026, Union Health Minister Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda reviewed the preparedness for NEET‑PG 2026, scheduled for 30 August 2026. The review covered NBEMS, technology partners and logistics, noting that 2,73,183 candidates have registered – a rise of over 12.5 % from the previous year – and that the exam will be held in a single shift across roughly 340 cities and 1,300 centres. The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approved the Pradhan Mantri Surya Sarovar Yojana (PM‑SSY) with a total outlay of Rs 5,070 crore to develop 5,000 MW of floating solar photovoltaic (FSPV) projects equipped with energy storage systems (ESS) of at least two‑hour capacity (10,000 MWh). The Ayush Quality Mark, launched on 19 December 2025 at the 2nd WHO Global Summit on Traditional Medicine, provides a unified quality‑assurance framework for AYUSH products and services. Implementation is entrusted to AYUSHEXCIL, an export promotion council notified by the DGFT and supported by the Ministry of AYUSH. The mark covers AYUSH products, hospitals, clinics, wellness centres, MVTFs and testing laboratories and aligns with internationally accepted standards through accredited certification. It is complemented by the Ayush Oushadhi Gunvatta Evam Uttpadan Samvardhan Yojana (AOGUSY), a central sector scheme approved by the Standing Finance Committee with a five‑year allocation of Rs 122 crore, which funds upgrades of drug‑testing labs (Rs 17.50 crore released in FY 2025‑26).
