From Peer Pressure to Purpose

This Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment release highlights the rehabilitation journey of an individual from Nagpur, Maharashtra, under the National Action Plan for Drug Demand Reduction (NAPDDR). Benefiting from professional psychological counselling, behavioural support, and peer-refusal training at an Integrated Rehabilitation Centre for Addicts (IRCA), the beneficiary overcame negative peer influences and substance abuse distractions that previously affected his auto-rickshaw livelihood. With timely institutional intervention and family support, he adopted a disciplined routine, stabilized his family's financial condition, and returned to productive self-reliance.
