The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has taken suo motu cognizance of media reports regarding borewell water contamination in the Dattanagar locality near the Ambad Industrial Area in Nashik district, Maharashtra. The contamination is reportedly caused by the seepage of chemical-laden factory effluents, affecting residents who have received contaminated water for two months. Eastern Coalfields Limited (ECL), a subsidiary of Coal India Limited under the Ministry of Coal, generated ₹2.21 crore in revenue through scrap disposal and cleared 62,720 square feet of space under Special Campaign 6. According to the progress report for October 2–16, ECL disposed of 413.5 metric tonnes of scrap and carried out cleanliness activities across 10 identified locations. The Department of Food and Public Distribution (DFPD) is implementing Special Campaign 6 from October 2 to October 31, 2026, focusing on institutionalising Swachhata, reducing pendency, and improving record management in government offices. As of October 15, 2026, the department reviewed 35,743 physical files, closed 7,040 e-files, addressed multiple public grievances, and handled references from Members of Parliament. Additionally, campaign activities generated ₹10,76,262 in revenue and freed 23,843 square feet of office space.

The Directorate General Resettlement (DGR), under the Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare, Ministry of Defence, organized an Ex-Servicemen Job Fair in Nagpur on October 16, 2026. The event connected more than 480 ex-servicemen with 42 national and multinational companies offering over 1,300 employment opportunities across diverse sectors. As of the mid-phase, the Department has completed 23 out of 32 identified cleanliness activities, reviewed 400 physical files (weeding out 287), achieved an 80% resolution rate for public grievances, initiated e-waste disposal under the E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2022, and disseminated over 35 social media posts.

The Department of Health & Family Welfare reviewed its mid-campaign progress under Special Campaign 6, conducted from October 2 to October 31, 2026, focusing on institutionalizing Swachhata, minimizing government pendency, and improving administrative efficiency. Led by the Nodal Officer, the campaign involves participation from central government hospitals, institutes, and subordinate offices. Key achievements reported at the mid-campaign stage include organizing 988 cleanliness sites and plantation drives, disposing of 3,993 public grievances and 454 appeals, reviewing over 40,000 physical files (weeding out 6,890) and 7,034 e-files (closing 6,875), and safely disposing of 800 e-waste items.
