The Coal Controller Organisation (CCO) under the Ministry of Coal has developed the SUVIKALP Mine Repurposing Tool and the PRISM implementation model to advance scientific mine closure and sustainable repurposing of post-mining land. India and New Zealand have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) concerning Electronic Origin Data Exchange of Trade in Goods. Signed between the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) and the New Zealand Customs Service (NZCS), the arrangement aims to facilitate bilateral trade under the India-New Zealand Free Trade Agreement (FTA) that entered into force on 20th October 2026. The Ministry of Commerce & Industry released the provisional Index of Core Industries (ICI) for September 2026, which registered a year-on-year growth rate of 7.9 per cent compared to September 2025. Scientists from the Raman Research Institute, an autonomous institution under the Department of Science and Technology, have discovered that the X-ray pulsar Centaurus X-3 accretes material through an accretion disk, which is rare for high-mass X-ray binaries. By investigating secondary emission lines, researchers found that an accretion stream co-rotating with the pulsar causes variability in these emission lines. This finding implies that future emission models for such binary pulsars must account for the presence of an accretion disk and stream.
