The PM GatiShakti National Master Plan (PMGS NMP) has completed five years of implementation since its launch in October 2021 by the Prime Minister. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) approved the four-laning of the Muzaffarpur–Sitamarhi–Sonbarsa section of National Highway-22 (NH-22) in Bihar under the Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM) at a cost of ₹3,590.73 crore. Spanning 82.57 km, the project aims to enhance regional connectivity, facilitate cross-border trade with Nepal via the Bhithamore Land Port, and integrate transport networks under the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan. The corridor links agricultural areas, industrial estates, a Mega Food Park, and railway stations while improving access to key cultural, religious, and aspirational districts.

The Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) released its 50th monthly report on the Centralized Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS) for States and UTs for September 2026. The report highlights grievance receipt and disposal statistics, user registrations, integration with Common Service Centres (CSCs) and State portals, feedback data, and capacity building under the Sevottam Scheme. In September 2026, 99,134 public grievance cases were received and 1,15,168 cases were redressed across States and UTs, while total pendency stood at 2,37,128 cases. The report also notes the integration of West Bengal with CPGRAMS and details training courses conducted for grievance redressal officers.

The Ministry of Ayush has issued Standard Treatment Guidelines (STGs) on the management of dermatological disorders for Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani, and Homoeopathy, alongside the inclusion of Yoga. Prepared by the Ayush Vertical of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), the guidelines aim to introduce uniformity, quality assurance, and evidence-informed clinical care for common skin conditions such as psoriasis, vitiligo, dermatitis, urticaria, and dermatophytosis. Released on the occasion of the 11th Ayurveda Day, the guidelines underwent interdisciplinary development involving traditional medicine experts, modern medicine specialists, and field-level validation with medical officers in NCT of Delhi to ensure operational usability.

A high-level inter-ministerial review meeting was held in New Delhi, co-chaired by Union Agriculture Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Environment Minister Shri Bhupender Yadav, to discuss stubble (crop residue) management during the paddy harvesting season. The Ministry of Labour & Employment has introduced the Amnesty Scheme, 2026, via the Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) Scheme 2026 notified on June 29, 2026. The scheme offers a one-time opportunity for retrospective regularisation of the exemption status of Provident Fund (PF) Trusts that are recognized under the Income Tax Act, 1961, but lack formal exemption under Section 17 of the EPF&MP Act, 1952, or Section 143 of the Code on Social Security, 2020. Key benefits include waivers of certain statutory requirements, such as employee headcount and corpus size, along with complete operational flexibility. The application window is set to expire on December 28, 2026. The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) is conducting nationwide outreach, training, and data sharing with the Ministry of Finance to facilitate regularisation.

The Ministry of Mines organised an outreach programme in New Delhi regarding the auction of two offshore mineral blocks, namely Sewell Rise-01 (632 sq km) and West Sewell Ridge-01 (1,000 sq km), located in the Andaman Sea. Issued via a Notice Inviting Tender on October 1, 2026, the blocks contain polymetallic nodules and crusts carrying nickel, cobalt, copper, and manganese, and are offered under a Composite Licence. The auction is conducted under the Offshore Areas Mineral (Development and Regulation) Act, 2002 (as amended in 2023) and the Offshore Areas Mineral (Auction) Rules, 2024. The Indian Navy is set to commission the indigenous multi-purpose warship 'Samarthak' at the Naval Base in Karwar on October 16, 2026. Built by M/s Larsen and Toubro Ltd under the Government of India's 'Make in India' initiative, it is the first of four Multi-Purpose Vessels being inducted into the Indian Navy. Designed primarily for maritime surveillance and patrol, Samarthak is capable of undertaking Low Intensity Maritime Operations, serving as a target deployment and trials platform, acting as an unmanned/autonomous system mothership, providing Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief, functioning as a limited hospital ship, and participating in salvage operations. The ship features an integrated combat suite of indigenous sensors, weapons, and electronic systems.

The Union Fisheries Secretary visited seaweed cultivation sites in Mandapam, Tamil Nadu, and chaired a meeting on seaweed farming involving stakeholders, research institutions, and coastal state representatives. Discussions focused on scaling up production, value addition, market linkages, technology adoption, and sustainable coastal livelihoods through government interventions such as the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) and the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Kisan Samridhi Sah-Yojana (PM-MKSSY). The report highlights that research institutions have identified 384 suitable sites across 24,707 hectares for seaweed cultivation along India's coastline. Union Minister for Development of North Eastern Region Jyotiraditya M. Scindia inaugurated the North East Bankers’ Conclave 3.0 in Aizawl, Mizoram. The conclave focused on expanding banking access, financial inclusion, and economic growth in the Northeast, which is growing at 9–11% annually. The Minister called for higher credit flow, noting that only ₹47 is extended as credit for every ₹100 deposited in the region. The Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change and the Chief Minister of NCT Delhi reviewed air pollution mitigation measures at the Anand Vihar hotspot and visited the Delhi Pollution Control Committee's AI-enabled Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC) at Shastri Park. Researchers at the Institute of Nano Science and Technology (INST) Mohali have developed a sustainable, machine learning-enabled filter to treat dye-contaminated wastewater. The technology integrates green-synthesized zinc oxide nanoparticles, produced using turmeric extract, with biodegradable polylactic acid (PLA) nanofibers. By combining photocatalysis and piezocatalysis through light and mechanical vibrations, the PLA-ZnO nanofibers achieved high decolorization rates of methylene blue and congo red within 120 minutes, while also demonstrating antibacterial activity against E. coli and S. aureus. Machine learning was integrated to predict dye-decolorization behavior based on various experimental parameters.

The Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) has released the 53rd Monthly Report on the Centralized Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS) for Central Ministries and Departments for September 2026. During the month, Central Ministries and Departments redressed 2,38,579 grievances, marking the 51st consecutive month where monthly disposal crossed one lakh cases. The report covers new user registrations, feedback collection from call centers and online portals, grievance status through Common Service Centres, the Secretary-level Review Meeting Module, and the Grievance Redressal Assessment and Index (GRAI) rankings categorizing top-performing ministries and departments.

The National Land Monetization Corporation (NLMC), under the Ministry of Finance, conducted its first end-to-end e-auction of land parcels belonging to Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL) in Visakhapatnam. Day 1 of the auction resulted in the sale of 150 plots, generating ₹366.33 crore against an aggregate reserve price of ₹312.48 crore, reflecting an average premium of 17.23%. The process, facilitated using RailTel’s E-Nivida platform with Quikr India Private Limited as the transaction consultant, forms part of broader efforts to monetize surplus land assets of Central Public Sector Enterprises. The second and final phase for the remaining 216 plots is scheduled for October 30, 2026.

Using its Shrutlekh platform and the BHASHINI mobile app, real-time translation between English and Spanish was enabled for international delegates from countries such as Peru, Cambodia, Nigeria, Kenya, Palestine, Lebanon, The Gambia, Ecuador, and Spain. The initiative highlights BHASHINI's Voice-First Multilingual AI approach, supporting international capacity-building efforts organised under the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation Programme.
