The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) has released the quarterly update of the PAIMANA (Project Assessment, Infrastructure Monitoring & Analytics for Nation-building) Performance Dashboard. The Indian Navy commissioned INS Samarthak, the first indigenous Multi-Purpose Vessel (MPV), on October 16, 2026. Designed, constructed, and built by Larsen & Toubro Ltd (L&T) Shipyard, it marks the first major warship built by an Indian private shipyard. Indian scientists from the University of Kerala have identified Martian analogue sites in Tamil Nadu and the Atacama Desert in Chile by detecting key minerals like melanterite and gypsum. Using advanced instrumentation including a laser Raman spectrometer supported by the DST-FIST program, the research team identified melanterite in Neyveli and gypsum in the Atacama Desert and the Tiruchirappalli Badlands. These hydrous sulphates record water-rock interactions and past aqueous environments comparable to those on Mars. The findings, published in the Journal of Geophysical Research: Planets, aid planetary science by helping understand past water activity, transient wet and acidic conditions, and potentially habitable environments on Mars.

The National Steering Committee of the Pradhan Mantri Skilling and Employability Transformation through Upgraded ITIs (PM-SETU) scheme approved five Strategic Investment Plans worth ₹1,194.92 crore for ITI clusters across Maharashtra, Odisha, and Jammu & Kashmir. This brings the cumulative approved investment under the PM-SETU scheme to ₹3,687 crore. The Commission for Air Quality Management in NCR and Adjoining Areas (CAQM) has expanded the PTZ camera-based remote monitoring requirement to all categories of industries covered under Statutory Direction No. 98 in the National Capital Region. The initiative aims to strengthen technology-enabled surveillance of fuel usage, stack emissions, OCEMS sampling locations, and industrial processes to curb air pollution. Covered entities include CPCB-identified highly polluting industries, Red Category units, and specific food processing, textile, and metal units with fuel-fired equipment. According to the 'Status Report on Ayush Related Inventions in India (2014–2026)', Ayush-related patent filings and grants experienced substantial growth between FY 2014–15 and FY 2025–26, with annual filings increasing from 63 to 590 applications. The 10th meeting of the Central Sanctioning and Monitoring Committee (CSMC) under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana - Urban 2.0 (PMAY-U 2.0) approved over 1.93 lakh additional houses, bringing the cumulative total of sanctioned houses under the mission to 20.80 lakh. Houses were sanctioned in 11 states for eligible Economically Weaker Section (EWS) families under the Beneficiary Led Construction (BLC) and Affordable Housing in Partnership (AHP) verticals. The Pradhan Mantri Anusuchit Jaati Abhyuday Yojana (PM-AJAY), implemented by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, is a 100 percent centrally funded scheme aimed at the socio-economic and educational empowerment of Scheduled Caste (SC) communities. The scheme comprises three main components: developing SC-dominated villages into 'Adarsh Grams', providing Grants-in-Aid for district and state-level socio-economic projects, and constructing or repairing student hostels. The Department of Consumer Affairs is expanding the distribution of buffer onions under the Price Stabilization Fund (PSF) by running the first-ever Kanda Express to Agartala, Tripura, carrying approximately 440 MT of onions.
