Secretary, Department of Urban Development, MoHUA chairs 10th meeting of CSMC under PMAY-U 2.0

The 10th meeting of the Central Sanctioning and Monitoring Committee (CSMC) under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana - Urban 2.0 (PMAY-U 2.0) approved over 1.93 lakh additional houses, bringing the cumulative total of sanctioned houses under the mission to 20.80 lakh. Houses were sanctioned in 11 states for eligible Economically Weaker Section (EWS) families under the Beneficiary Led Construction (BLC) and Affordable Housing in Partnership (AHP) verticals. PMAY-U 2.0, launched in September 2024, aims to provide financial assistance to urban poor and middle-class families through four verticals. The scheme prioritizes women-centric development, with 97 percent of sanctioned houses allotted in women's name or joint ownership, alongside allocations for senior citizens and SC, ST, and OBC beneficiaries.
