The Department of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation under the Ministry of Jal Shakti has reported its achievements under Special Campaign 6, conducted between October 2nd and 31st, 2026, under the aegis of the Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances. The campaign focuses on expediting pending administrative matters, public grievances, references, and promoting cleanliness in government offices. As of late October 2026, the department reviewed thousands of physical and e-files, addressed PMO and state government references, cleaned multiple sites, generated revenue through scrap disposal, freed office space, and undertook media outreach for mass awareness.

India has reached green hydrogen offtake commitments exceeding 5.5 lakh MTPA by October 2026, establishing itself as a global leader in green hydrogen supply commitments. Since the launch of the National Green Hydrogen Mission (NGHM) in 2023, 23 offtake contracts have been signed, with over 70 percent earmarked for exports. These projects are projected to attract investments exceeding ₹90,000 crore. Major agreements involve Indian companies like ACME Group, L&T, Reliance Industries, AM Green, and Jouno Joules partnering with international entities in Japan, South Korea, Sri Lanka, and Germany. Furthermore, domestic demand is supported through the Strategic Interventions for Green Hydrogen Transition (SIGHT) Programme, supplying green ammonia and hydrogen to fertilizer units and refineries.

The 93rd Meeting of the General Council of the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) was held in New Delhi under the chairmanship of the Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation. The meeting reviewed NCDC's financial and institutional achievements, noting cumulative financial assistance disbursements exceeding ₹4.14 lakh crore from the establishment of the Ministry of Cooperation up to October 2026, a net profit of ₹1,475 crore, a loan recovery rate of 99.84 per cent, and zero net NPAs in FY 2025–26. Discussions focused on future disbursement targets, expanding cooperative networks in the North-East to achieve self-reliance in milk, eggs, fish, and meat by 2030, building circular economies around cooperative sugar mills, implementing the National Cooperative Development Corporation (Amendment) Act, 2026, and promoting innovation through the Sahakar Navachar Yojana.

The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) organized a National Workshop on 'Enhancing Coastal Resilience through Adaptive Strategies' in New Delhi under the Green Climate Fund (GCF) project for Enhancing Climate Resilience of India’s Coastal Communities (GCF-ECRICC). The workshop focused on restoring critical coastal ecosystems like mangroves, seagrasses, salt marshes, and corals, while strengthening livelihoods in vulnerable areas. Discussions highlighted transferring scientific foundations like shoreline-change assessment and hazard-line mapping into local planning and investments, the role of the National Coastal Mission, and progress made in Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Odisha. The event featured participation from central and state authorities, UNDP, The Nature Conservancy India, and other stakeholders.

Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh addressed the 13th ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting (ADMM) - Plus in Cebu, Philippines, reaffirming India's commitment to collective regional security, counter-terrorism, and the rule of law in the Indo-Pacific. He highlighted India's battle-tested expertise in counter-terrorism, citing Operation Sindoor, and expressed readiness to share this experience with ADMM-Plus partners. Emphasizing maritime cooperation, he noted India's designation of 2026 as the ASEAN-India Year of Maritime Cooperation and underscored the Indian Navy's continuous operational presence in the Gulf of Aden since 2008 as a net security provider. India's rapid digitalisation has driven a significant increase in data generation and internet subscriptions, leading to a strong reliance on cloud infrastructure for digital governance and public service delivery. The government is expanding domestic cloud and data centre capabilities through initiatives like MeghRaj 2.0, the IndiaAI Mission, and the Cloud Selection Framework issued by MeitY. As of September 2026, India has empanelled 30 Cloud Service Providers. Data centre capacity reached 1.57 GW by August 2026 and is projected to scale up significantly. Capacity-building initiatives such as FutureSkills PRIME and policy measures like the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 further support secure cloud adoption and data sovereignty.

The Government approved increased Minimum Support Prices (MSPs) for all mandated Rabi crops for the Rabi Marketing Season 2027-28, with an estimated ₹90,962 crore to be paid for 324 lakh metric tonnes of produce. The MSPs are determined based on recommendations from the Commission for Agricultural Costs and Prices, incorporating factors such as the cost of production and ensuring a minimum margin of 50 percent over it. The procurement mechanism involves agencies like FCI, NAFED, and NCCF, supported by digital platforms such as e-Samriddhi and e-Samyukti, alongside mandatory biometric authentication under the Price Support Scheme of PM-AASHA.

The Ayushman Vay Vandana initiative, marking its second year, extends health coverage under Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY) to all citizens aged 70 years and above, regardless of socio-economic status. Implemented by the National Health Authority, it aims to empower approximately 6 crore senior citizens across 4.5 crore families with cashless healthcare coverage of up to ₹5 lakh per year for secondary and tertiary hospitalization. Eligible seniors in families already covered under AB PM-JAY receive an additional exclusive top-up cover of ₹5 lakh. As of October 2026, the scheme has recorded 23.46 lakh authorized hospital admissions valued at ₹5,668.80 crore, with significant utilization for cataract surgery, chronic hemodialysis, and advanced cardiac care like PTCA.

The Emerging Science, Technology and Innovation Conclave (ESTIC) 2026 concluded with a call for technology-led transformation aligned with Viksit Bharat 2047. Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh emphasized indigenous research, industry-academia collaboration, capacity building in science administration, and time-bound translation of technologies into societal solutions. During the valedictory session, two landmark documents were released: the National Vision Document for ESTIC 2026, consolidating priorities of 12 ministries across 12 thematic areas, and India’s STI Outlook 2026, providing an evidence-based account of the nation's innovation ecosystem. The Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation (MoSPI) has released the Sub-Sectoral Trial Index of Services Production (ISP) for August 2026, using 2024–25 as the base year. The data covers 19 sub-sectors including wholesale and retail trade, transport, accommodation, banking, insurance, IT, real estate, and professional services. Published on an experimental basis as a trial series, the index aims to help MoSPI examine data quality, test resilience, and gather stakeholder feedback.

The second edition of the ARISE Cities Forum 2026 concluded in New Delhi with the adoption of the Delhi Declaration on Local Action for Global Climate Goals. Organized by ICLEI South Asia in collaboration with the National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA) and supported by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, the forum brought together over 200 participants from 50 plus cities and 18 plus countries. The event emphasized urban voices from the Global South, calling for stronger multilevel climate governance, integration of cities in national climate plans, and access to climate finance. The outcomes and the Delhi Declaration 2026 will be taken forward to COP31 in Antalya, Türkiye. Additionally, the event marked the launch of the Delhi Biodiversity Map.

The Ministry of Panchayati Raj organized a one-day National Workshop on the People’s Plan Campaign (PPC) 2026-27 in New Delhi, inaugurated by Union Minister Shri Rajiv Ranjan Singh. The workshop aims to review achievements and thematic Panchayat Development Plans for the financial year 2027-28. Events included the release of the PPC 2026-27 booklet and the signing of an MoU for setting up electric vehicle charging and battery swapping stations. Technical sessions addressed the quality of Gram Panchayat Development Plans, grants under the 16th Finance Commission, Own Source Revenue, and the eGramSwaraj portal. The PPC, themed “Sabki Yojana, Sabka Vikas”, provides a framework for participatory grassroots planning and localization of Sustainable Development Goals.

Raksha Rajya Mantri Shri Sanjay Seth is scheduled to inaugurate विश्व-2026 (VISV-2026), an event organized by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) in collaboration with the Centre for Joint Warfare Studies (CENJOWS) at the Manekshaw Centre, New Delhi. The event, themed "Showcasing Defence Capabilities, Strengthening Global Partnerships," highlights India's indigenous defence technology capabilities and fosters engagement with friendly partner nations. The Union Minister of Jal Shakti chaired the 19th Meeting of the Ganga Flood Control Board (GFCB) in New Delhi. The meeting brought together representatives from central ministries, Ganga Basin states, NITI Aayog, and concerned agencies to review ongoing initiatives, deliberate on flood management, and enhance Centre-State cooperation. During the event, the Punah Bharan Mobile App was launched to facilitate the scientific identification of artificial groundwater recharge locations. The Board also discussed the revised mandate and restructuring of the Ganga Flood Control Commission, risk-based basin Master Plans, improved Detailed Project Reports, and the application of modern technologies in flood management.

The Ministry of Labour & Employment has announced that the Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) has extended the 'New Amnesty Scheme, 2025' from 01.10.2026 to 31.12.2026 following representations from stakeholders. The scheme serves as a one-time dispute resolution initiative designed to reduce court case backlogs and promote voluntary compliance under the erstwhile ESI Act. It allows employers to settle ad-hoc assessments by paying actual contributions and interest without damages, withdraw cases upon payment of 10 percent of disputed damages where dues are already paid, and withdraw cases filed for non-submission of records or delayed payments upon compliance and court permission. Court cases filed up to 31.03.2025 are eligible.

The 15th meeting of the Review Committee for Narmada Control Authority (RCNCA) was held under the chairmanship of the Union Minister of Jal Shakti, with the Chief Ministers of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan participating. The committee adopted the opinion of the Learned Attorney General for India and the Memorandum of Agreement signed on 7th July, 2026. This agreement serves as a one-time settlement for long-term inter-state disputes regarding cost-sharing and pending financial liabilities for the Sardar Sarovar Project and NWDT Award Projects. The RCNCA approved modalities for clearing outstanding dues within the financial year 2026-27.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is scheduled to release the 24th instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme from Banaskantha, Gujarat. Through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), more than Rs 18,690 crore will be transferred to over 9.34 crore eligible farmers. Alongside this, the Prime Minister will dedicate 521 units developed under the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund to strengthen agricultural storage and processing, and inaugurate 12 horticulture clusters to promote high-value crops and boost farmer incomes.

Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Shri Piyush Goyal addressed the Fourth National Conference on India’s Industrial Transformation, highlighting quality, economies of scale, global market access, and inclusivity as vital pillars for India’s industrial growth. He emphasized comprehensive trade agreements that protect national sensitivities while expanding international partnerships, and discussed India's clean energy goals, green energy capacity, startup ecosystem, and growth in sectors like semiconductors and space. The Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India, along with the Labour Department of Madhya Pradesh, jointly organized a district-level capacity-building and awareness programme named “Shram Samvad” in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. The event focused on the four Labour Codes, labour welfare, and social protection initiatives. It aimed to enhance awareness among employers, HR, legal, and finance professionals regarding statutory compliance and institutional capacity for labor reforms. Technical sessions covered the key features of the Labour Codes, compliance requirements, the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PMVBRY), and the Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan (PM-SYM) Scheme. Officials shared compliance handbooks and FAQs, highlighting Centre-State coordination and stakeholder engagement.

The Department of Science and Technology (DST) hosted a session on Autonomous Systems, Physical AI, and Robotics at the Emerging Science, Technology and Innovation Conclave (ESTIC) 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. DST Secretary Prof. Umesh V. Waghmare highlighted the National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems, noting that technology innovation hubs have been established at 25 leading academic institutions, with Phase I scheduled to conclude in December 2027. Prof. Abhay Karandikar, Member, NITI Aayog, discussed Physical AI as a systems engineering challenge requiring reliability, safety, and trustworthiness, and mentioned stakeholder consultations considering a proposal for a Physical AI Mission.
