The National Cooperative Database (NCD) reports that as of 15 July 2026, Jharkhand has 12,207 cooperative societies (8,141 functional) and Gujarat has 88,119 (79,817 functional). The Central Sector Project for Computerisation of Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS), launched in 2022, was expanded from 63,000 to 79,630 PACS with a revised outlay of ₹2,925.39 crore. Annexure‑2 details state‑wise central funding for the PACS project, while Annexure‑3 shows NCDC’s disburments to states over the last five years, including ₹0.60 crore to Jharkhand and ₹165.60 crore to Gujarat in 2026‑27. The Ministry of Cooperation also notes the Multi‑State Cooperative Societies (Amendment) Act, 2023, reserving seats for women and SC/ST members.

The National Co‑operative Exports Limited (NCEL) is tasked with acting as the umbrella organisation for exporting goods and services, including organic products, produced by cooperative societies nationwide. NCEL has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with National Cooperative Organics Limited (NCOL) to export certified organic products under the “Bharat Organics” brand. This development was disclosed by Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Shri Amit Shah in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha.

The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the "Nasha Mukta Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyaan" on 2 August 2026. The 100‑week Jan Bhagidari movement aims to create a drug‑free India by mobilising more than one crore youth across nearly 10,000 locations to take a Nasha Mukti pledge. Activities each Sunday will include sports, walk‑athons, cultural programmes and awareness drives, with participation from MY Bharat volunteers, NSS volunteers, schools, NGOs, industrial bodies and over 125 spiritual organisations. Milestones at the 50th, 75th and 100th weeks will honour outstanding contributors.

India has emerged as a global leader in tiger conservation, now hosting nearly 70% of the world’s wild tigers. The 2022 All India Tiger Estimation recorded 3,682 tigers across 20 states, based on a survey of over 6.41 lakh km on foot. Project Tiger, a centrally‑sponsored scheme implemented by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, has established 58 tiger reserves covering about 84,500 sq km (2.56% of India’s area). The National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) oversees scientific monitoring using technologies such as M‑STrIPES, camera‑trap AI tools and Management Effectiveness Evaluation, while India engages in international partnerships like the International Big Cat Alliance and Global Tiger Forum.

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy announced that under PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana (PMSG: MBY) higher central financial assistance is provided for the first two kWp of rooftop solar (RTS) capacity, and collateral‑free loans are available from nationalised banks at a concessional rate of repo‑rate + 50 bps (5.75% per annum) for a ten‑year tenure. Budget allocations for the scheme are Rs 6,250 crore (2024‑25), Rs 20,000 crore (2025‑26) and Rs 22,000 crore (2026‑27), with expenditures of Rs 7,822.92 crore, Rs 16,166.23 crore and Rs 10,392.48 crore respectively (as on 22 July 2026). By that date, 3,972,447 RTS systems covering 4,802,717 households had been installed, leading to reduced electricity bills and 18.93 households reporting zero bills for some months.

The PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana (PMSG: MBY), launched in February 2024, is a demand‑driven scheme allowing residential consumers with grid‑connected electricity to install rooftop solar (RTS) systems via the portal www.pmsuryaghar.gov.in. As of 22 July 2026, 39,72,447 RTS systems have been installed, benefiting 48,02,717 households nationwide, including rural areas. In the fiscal year 2025‑26, 18.71 lakh RTS systems added 6.7 GW of capacity, covering 22.71 lakh households. Over 18.93 lakh beneficiaries have reported zero electricity bills after installation. The scheme also envisages RTS installations in government and commercial buildings but provides no central financial assistance to these categories.

India’s exports reached a record US$ 863.1 billion in FY 2025‑26, comprising US$ 441.8 billion in merchandise and US$ 421.3 billion in services. The surge was driven by strong trade under FTAs with the UAE (US$ 37.3 bn), the UK (US$ 13.44 bn) and Australia (US$ 7.28 bn). Post‑FTA utilisation is reflected in the issuance of 4.45 lakh Certificates of Origin for the India‑UAE CEPA and a rise in HS‑8 tariff lines exported to partner countries. The government monitors preferential tariff benefits and has bolstered trade facilitation through platforms like Trade e‑Connect and the Trade Intelligence and Analytics Portal.

The PIB release reports that Public Sector Banks (PSBs) achieved a historic low Gross Non‑Performing Assets (GNPA) ratio of 1.9% in FY 2025‑26, alongside a record net profit of ₹1.98 lakh crore and total business of ₹283.3 lakh crore. Over the last five years, total deposits rose from ₹107.2 lakh crore to ₹156.3 lakh crore and loans & advances grew from ₹74.3 lakh crore to ₹127.0 lakh crore. Credit growth was robust in retail (19.8%), MSME (19.6%) and agriculture (16.2%) sectors. The Government introduced Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme (ECLGS 5.0) in May 2026, offering up to 100% guarantee for MSMEs and 90% for non‑MSMEs and scheduled passenger airlines, with a total credit flow of ₹2.55 lakh crore.

The Union Minister for Communications, Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, reviewed the Bharat 6G Alliance (B6GA) progress at Vigyan Bhawan, noting its seven specialised working groups covering spectrum, devices, technology, applications, green & sustainability, outreach, and use‑cases. The Ministry of Civil Aviation inaugurated Hub & Spoke International Flight Operations from Amritsar on 28 July 2026, making Amritsar the second spoke airport under India’s International Aviation Hub Strategy. The model links Amritsar to Delhi as a hub, enabling passengers to check‑in, clear immigration and customs at Amritsar and then transfer at Delhi without repeat formalities. The Ministry’s studies project the hub‑spoke system could create about 0.4 million jobs and add USD 30 billion to the economy by 2030, rising to 16 million jobs and USD 1.4 trillion by 2047. The initiative aims to boost tourism, trade, investment and regional development while enhancing India’s aviation sovereignty.

The Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation released the Quick Estimate of the Index of Industrial Production (IIP) for June 2026, showing a 7.3 % year‑on‑year increase – up from 5.1 % in May 2026. Sector‑wise growth rates were 1.0 % for Mining & Quarrying, 7.8 % for Manufacturing, 10.6 % for Electricity & Gas Supply and 6.1 % for Water Supply, Sewerage & Waste Management. Within Manufacturing, 19 of 23 NIC‑2‑digit groups posted positive growth; the leading contributors were Manufacture of electrical equipment (34.0 %), motor vehicles, trailers and semi‑trailers (17.5 %) and food products (10.8 %). Use‑Based Classification indicated strong gains in Capital Goods (14.2 %) and Intermediate Goods (9.3 %). The Quick Estimates were compiled at weighted response rates of 86.7 % (June) and 93.1 % (May).

The 17th Toy Biz International exhibition (4‑7 July 2026, New Delhi) showcased 400 Indian toy brands to 100 international buyers from 40 countries, generating around 30,000 business visits. The Government of India has undertaken multiple measures – a National Action Plan for Toys (21 actions across 14 ministries), increased basic customs duty on toys (20 %→70 %), a Quality Control Order (effective 1 Jan 2021), BIS licensing (≈1,800 domestic, >50 foreign), cluster support under SFURTI (18 clusters), startup recognition (>700), and export incentives via RoDTEP and several CEPA agreements. The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) released data for June 2026 showing a total of 1,348.08 million telephone subscribers (1,300.25 million wireless + 47.82 million wireline). Broadband subscribers (including M2M) rose to 1,087.50 million, with a net addition of 5.03 million wireless and a decline of 0.68 million wireline. Overall tele‑density (including M2M) reached 94.31 %, urban tele‑density 153.43 % and rural tele‑density 60.89 %. Active wireless (mobile) subscribers on the peak VLR date were 1,201.06 million (≈93.66 % of the wireless base). Mobile Number Portability requests totaled 14.78 million in June 2026.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has established the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) as an attached office to handle cyber crimes comprehensively. Under I4C, the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (NCRP) and the Citizen Financial Cyber Fraud Reporting and Management System (CFCFRMS) were launched, saving over Rs 11,158 crore from 32.80 lakh complaints by 30 June 2026. A Cyber Fraud Mitigation Centre, a Suspect Registry, and the Samanvaya MIS platform facilitate coordination among banks, telecoms, and state law‑enforcement agencies, leading to the arrest of 29,837 accused and assistance in 2,33,593 investigations. Capacity‑building initiatives include the ‘CyTrain’ MOOC ( 1,63,344 officers registered) and the Cyber Commando programme ( 281 commandos trained). Awareness campaigns span caller‑tunes, social media, TV, radio, schools, and public venues.

The Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare outlines a suite of initiatives to conserve, research, and promote traditional agricultural produce and indigenous seed varieties. ICAR‑NBPGR conducts germplasm collection, characterization and documentation; 5,346 farmer varieties have been registered under the PPV&FR Act. The National Gene Fund and Plant Genome Saviour awards incentivise farmers for conservation. Financial assistance for seed production of traditional varieties is provided under the National Food Security & Nutrition Mission. The PMFME Scheme’s One District One Product (ODOP) approach supports 726 districts, while geographical indication registration and commodity‑specific boards (e.g., Tea, Coffee, Spices, APEDA, National Makhana Board) aid branding and market development. Research projects at ICAR‑IARI target climate‑resilient improvements of traditional crops.

The Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying is implementing the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) with a total outlay of Rs 20,750 crore from FY 2020‑21 onward for fisheries development across all States/UTs. For Uttar Pradesh, projects approved under PMMSY total Rs 1,294.32 crore, with a central share of Rs 412.30 crore; of this, Rs 336.61 crore has been released and Rs 316.61 crore spent. The scheme supports pond development, hatcheries, feed mills, cold‑chain, Biofloc, RAS, cage culture and related modern interventions. Nationally, fish production rose from 141.64 lakh tonnes (2019‑20) to 197.97 lakh tonnes (2024‑25), and fisheries exports grew from Rs 46,662.85 crore (2019‑20) to Rs 73,890 crore (2025‑26).

The Ministry of Home Affairs, under the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C), launched the Citizen Financial Cyber Fraud Reporting and Management System (CFCFRMS) in 2021. By 30 June 2026, the platform recorded over 32.80 lakh complaints and helped save more than Rs 11,158 crore. A toll‑free helpline (1930) and a Money Restoration Module (operational from April 2026) facilitate rapid fund recovery, while a Grievance Redressal Module addresses account freezing and lien issues. The Ministry also issued an SOP for NCRP‑CFCFRMS to standardise complaint handling. Additionally, a Suspect Registry (launched 10 Sept 2024) has shared over 30.48 lakh suspect identifiers and blocked transactions worth Rs 25,698 crore. CERT‑In employs AI‑driven systems for threat detection and issues alerts. Financial assistance of Rs 132.93 crore under the ‘Cyber Crime Prevention against Women and Children’ scheme supports capacity‑building in 33 States/UTs, including cyber forensic‑training labs and personnel training. The National‑Digital Investigation Support Centre, established in New Delhi and Assam, assisted in 14,064 cyber‑crime cases by mid‑2026. Overall, 1,586 entities, including 40 foreign banks, have been onboarded onto CFCFRMS.

The Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying, has implemented the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) in Andhra Pradesh since 2020‑21. Under the scheme, proposals approved for the state total Rs 2,328.89 crore, with a central share of Rs 681.38 crore and Rs 445.05 crore released to date. Approved infrastructure includes five fish‑feed plants, 16 cold‑storage/ice plants, six modern fish‑landing centres, three modern fishing harbours, modernization of the Vishakhapatnam harbour, one integrated Aqua Park, 15 Climate‑Resilient Coastal Fishermen Villages and one Fish Brood Bank. The government has also organised seafood exporters’ meetings in 2026 to address market diversification and trade challenges. India’s seafood exports reached a record 19.72 lakh mt worth ₹73,890.46 crore (US$ 8.46 bn) in FY 2025‑26.

The Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare highlighted several central initiatives to strengthen agricultural marketing, a State subject. The e-NAM portal now registers 1.89 crore farmers and 2.78 lakh traders, with inter‑State trade rising from 563 MT in 2018‑19 to 2,984.3 MT in 2025‑26. Under the scheme for 10,000 Farmer Producer Organizations, 10,000 FPOs have been registered, achieving a cumulative turnover of Rs 20,340 crore since 2020. The Agricultural Marketing Infrastructure (AMI) Scheme has sanctioned 12,353 storage projects (369.18 lakh MT capacity) and 6,901 non‑storage projects in the past decade. Additional support comes from the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund, MIDH, PMKSY, and the World’s Largest Grain Storage Programme, collectively enhancing post‑harvest, storage, and value‑addition facilities.

On World Hepatitis Day 2026, the Union Health Ministry marked eight years of the National Viral Hepatitis Control Programme (NVHCP). Launched in 2018, the programme aims to eliminate viral hepatitis as a public health threat by 2030, aligning with SDG Target 3.3. Union MoS for Health, Smt. Anupriya Patel, highlighted that over 21 crore beneficiaries have been screened, more than 6 lakh patients have received free treatment, and 1,153 treatment centres—including 70 specialised sites—are now operational. The Hepatitis B birth‑dose coverage exceeds 92 percent, while 7.64 crore pregnant women have been screened and 2.24 lakh newborns have received HBIG. The programme leverages convergence with the Reproductive and Child Health, National AIDS Control, and Universal Immunisation programmes, and integrates its case‑based management system with the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission.
