Minister of State for Power and New and Renewable Energy, Shri Shripad Naik holds Bilateral Meeting with European Parliament’s Committee on Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE) Delegation

Shri Shripad Naik, Minister of State for Power and New and Renewable Energy, held a bilateral meeting in New Delhi with a delegation from the European Parliament’s Committee on Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE) on 24 September 2026. The meeting focused on reviewing and strengthening India-EU cooperation in the power and energy sectors. Discussions spanned energy security, power sector transformation, low-carbon development, nuclear energy, carbon markets, and emerging technologies such as green hydrogen, long-duration energy storage, digital power-system technologies, carbon capture, utilization and storage, and Small Modular Reactors. The Minister highlighted India's progress in expanding non-fossil fuel capacity, fulfilling NDC commitments ahead of schedule, and upgrading transmission, distribution, and smart-grid infrastructure.
