The Ministry of Education has opened online registrations (04‑18 August 2026) for Yuva Sangam Phase VII, a youth exchange programme under Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat. Twenty higher‑education institutions (IITs, IIMs, Central Universities, NITs) have been designated as nodal institutions to host five‑to‑seven‑day cultural and educational tours for paired State/UT pairs. As of 30 June 2026, the Ayushman Bharat‑Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB‑PMJAY) has authorized 12.69 crore cash‑less hospital admissions worth ₹1.92 lakh crore through 37,413 public and private hospitals. The scheme provides ₹5 lakh per family per year to 12 crore economically vulnerable families (bottom 40 % of the population). It was expanded in March 2024 to include about 37 lakh families of ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers and helpers, and in October 2024 to cover 6 crore senior citizens (age 70 +) belonging to 4.5 crore families irrespective of socio‑economic status. According to National Health Accounts (2022‑23), out‑of‑pocket expenditure fell from 62.6 % of total health spending in 2014‑15 to 43.4 % in 2022‑23, reflecting the scheme’s impact. The Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Shri Prataprao Jadhav, highlighted these figures in the Rajya Sabha.

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare released the National and State/UT Fact Sheets of NFHS‑6 (2023‑24) on 29 May 2026. The Technical Advisory Committee, comprising representatives from ministries such as DDWS, MoWCD, MoSPI, ORGI, NITI Aayog and DEPwD, finalised the indicators for these Fact Sheets in line with the Government’s Data Harmonisation Initiative to ensure consistency across official data sources. The Ministry of Panchayati Raj reports that under the SVAMITVA Scheme, drone surveys have been completed in 3.30 lakh villages, resulting in the preparation of 3.24 crore property cards for 1.97 lakh villages and distribution of about 2.72 crore cards to owners. The scheme aims to create a Record of Rights for rural inhabited areas and is being linked with institutional credit; 11,147 loans worth Rs 1,713 crore have been disbursed on the basis of these cards. State‑wise data show progress in drone coverage, card preparation and distribution across all states/UTs, with a target of covering 3.38 lakh villages by the end of the implementation period. The Ministry funds the Survey of India for drone work, while states handle ground verification and card issuance.

The Ministry of Panchayati Raj, via the Department of Drinking Water & Sanitation, reported that the 15th Finance Commission (FC‑XV) allocated a total of Rs 2.36 lakh crore as tied grants to Rural Local Bodies in 28 states for 2021‑22 to 2025‑26, with 60 % (Rs 1.42 lakh crore) earmarked for drinking water, rain‑water harvesting, water recycling and sanitation/ODF maintenance (Rs 0.71 lakh crore each). The release of these grants is contingent on states meeting criteria in the operational guidelines. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare reports that as of 26 June 2026, 100 % of public healthcare facilities have been assessed through the IPHS digital toolkit, with 64 % scoring above 50 %. To strengthen 24 × 7 emergency services, the Ministry provides technical and financial support to states for human resources, essential drugs, diagnostics, equipment, infrastructure, Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, First Referral Units and quality‑improvement programmes. A delegation of the All India Kisan Coordination Committee met Union Agriculture Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan at Krishi Bhavan, New Delhi, expressing strong support for ethanol as a means to boost farmers’ income and enhance energy security. The Department of Posts, under the Ministry of Communications, has launched the National Level ‘Dhai Akhar’ Letter Writing Campaign 2026‑27. On 04 August 2026, Air India Flight AI2379 (Airbus A320, VT‑EXO) operating from Phuket to Delhi experienced a brief altitude variation but landed safely at Indira Gandhi International Airport. The Ministry of Education highlighted multiple initiatives to expand academic assistance in higher education. In FY 2025‑26 the Centre provided about 1.09 crore scholarships for post‑matric and higher education, covering OBC/EBC/DNT (36 lakh), SC (48 lakh) and ST (24 lakh) students. The Higher Education Financing Agency (HEFA) has disbursed loans worth Rs 24,977.62 crore for infrastructure, while the Central Universities received Rs 1,13,943.55 crore in grants (FY 2014‑25 to 2025‑26) and Rs 17,440 crore for FY 2026‑27. The Ministry of Power outlined recent developments in modernising India’s power sector. In FY 2025‑26, 9,470 MW of fossil‑fuel and 55,225 MW of non‑fossil capacity were added, alongside 2,668.54 MW of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) capacity in 2026. The government is pursuing grid‑modernisation measures such as coordinated transmission planning, deployment of STATCOM/SVC, and integration of 47 GW BESS and 100 GW pumped storage by 2031‑32. The Ministry of Finance announced that 99.92% of inhabited villages (600,868 of 601,328) now have a banking outlet—branch, Business Correspondent or India Post Payments Bank—within 5 km, based on data uploaded on the Jan Dhan Darshak app. This coverage is backed by over 1.81 lakh bank branches, 17.36 lakh Business Correspondents and 1.65 lakh IPPB centres as of 17 July 2026. The Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation (MoSPI) is modernising the National Sample Surveys by deploying Computer Assisted Personal Interview (CAPI) integrated with the e‑sigma platform, which includes in‑built validation checks, an AI‑enabled chatbot and multilingual interfaces. MoSPI has also launched short‑duration surveys for high‑frequency socio‑economic indicators and integrated administrative datasets to strengthen sampling frames.
