Government of India, in consultation with UT of Ladakh, identify 28 places/features, located in the UT of Ladakh, by standard place and feature names on the official map of Survey of India (SoI)

The Government of India, in consultation with the Union Territory of Ladakh, has identified 28 places and features located in Ladakh with standard names on the official map of the Survey of India (SoI). This formal identification includes various peaks, passes, land areas, mountains, glaciers, valleys, lakes, rivers, and water bodies such as Atisha Giri, Kanishka Peak, Zorawar Peak, and Yangpa River. According to the release, this measure aims to facilitate accurate recognition of these geographical features and promote better public awareness.
