Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) has signed MoUs with the District Administration of Sundargarh for five developmental projects worth ₹22.64 crore under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. Key interventions include annual inspections of Grossly Polluting Industries (GPIs) by independent technical institutes, sector-specific charters for high pollution-load sectors like pulp and paper, sugar, distillery, textile, and tannery, and monitoring of Common Effluent Treatment Plants (CETPs). The 21st Meeting of the Maritime State Development Council (MSDC) concluded in Mumbai under the chairmanship of the Union Minister for Ports, Shipping & Waterways.
