Goa Shipyard Limited has formally handed over ICGS Ajit (Yard 1277), a state-of-the-art Fast Patrol Vessel, to the Indian Coast Guard. Built with over 65 percent indigenous content, the 51.43-metre-long vessel features twin marine diesel engines driving controllable pitch propellers, a top speed exceeding 27 knots, and an endurance of 1,500 nautical miles. Operated by a crew of 6 officers and 35 sailors, the vessel is designed for maritime security missions including fisheries protection, Exclusive Economic Zone surveillance, coastal patrolling, anti-smuggling, anti-piracy, and search and rescue operations.

The Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT), the premier telecom R&D centre of the Department of Telecommunications, celebrated its 43rd Foundation Day in New Delhi. The event featured an exhibition of indigenous telecom technologies and solutions, along with the unveiling of a Quantum Products Wall and the launch of a Quantum Product booklet showcasing Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) and Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) solutions. The ICAR–Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute (ICAR-CCARI), in collaboration with Core CarbonX Solutions Pvt. Ltd., organized a one-day workshop titled 'Carbon Pathshala: Voluntary Carbon Market (VCM) for Farmers' at ICAR-KVK, Old Goa. Held under the project on plantation-based systems and biochar production, the initiative familiarized farmers with carbon markets, carbon sequestration, and generating carbon credits. The workshop featured discussions on utilizing farm and plantation residues for biochar to improve soil health, a live demonstration of portable biochar production units, and explanations of the agricultural carbon project cycle. Around 100 farmers, with a focus on women and smallholders, participated to explore additional income sources and environmental sustainability.

The Indian Navy is scheduled to commission 'Nipun', the second Diving Support Vessel (DSV) of the Nistar-class, at the Naval Dockyard in Mumbai on August 31, 2026. Designed and constructed indigenously by Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL) in Visakhapatnam, the vessel was delivered to the Navy on July 30, 2026. Nipun is built to support a wide range of deep-sea diving and underwater operations, including submarine rescue operations, and features modern systems for navigation, platform management, and precise station-keeping.

The Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation (MoSPI) observed Swachhata Pakhwada 2026 from July 1 to July 15, 2026, featuring activities focused on sanitation, workplace hygiene, record management, environmental sustainability, and waste management. Offices and field formations across the country undertook plantation drives, awareness campaigns, workshops, shramdaan, and waste-to-wealth initiatives. Minister of State for Women and Child Development, Smt. Savitri Thakur, celebrated the completion of 10 years of the Unified Payments Interface (UPI). In a post on 'X', the Union Minister stated that while carrying cash was previously a necessity, the mobile phone has now become the wallet for every Indian. The Ministry of Food Processing Industries organised the PMFME Conclave 2026 at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, focusing on the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme. The National Traders’ Welfare Board (NTWB) held its 100th Virtual Conference (VC) Interaction Meeting to strengthen regular engagement with the trader community across the country. Established following a proposal from the Board's 2nd meeting in February 2024 and formally launched in July 2024, the weekly virtual platform allows retail traders to access information regarding government schemes, submit grievances and suggestions, and communicate recurring issues to concerned ministries and departments. The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, along with DHR, ICMR, and NCDC, is monitoring seasonal influenza trends across India through a pan-India surveillance network. Officials stated that current influenza trends, including Influenza A (H1N1) viruses identified as A/Missouri/11/2025 (H1N1) pdm09-like viruses, show normal antigenic drift consistent with seasonal patterns observed since 2025, with no new or unusual virus strain detected. The illness remains largely self-limiting for healthy individuals, though vulnerable groups such as the elderly, young children, individuals with co-morbidities, and those with compromised immunity face a higher risk of complications and are advised to exercise caution.

The Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions hosted the 39th National Good Governance Webinar under the theme 'Sustainability and Replication of the Awarded Initiatives under PMA'. Sushil Kumar Sharma, an outsourced sewer-cleaning worker from Jhunjhunu district in Rajasthan, transitioned to a mechanised sanitation entrepreneur through the Swachhta Udyami Yojana (SUY) under the NAMASTE initiative of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. Supported on 15 January 2026 for a total project cost of ₹10.70 lakh—financed via a loan of ₹5.35 lakh and a capital subsidy of ₹5.35 lakh—he procured a tractor with a suction tanker. This mechanisation replaced physically strenuous cleaning practices, elevated his monthly income from approximately ₹15,000 to ₹30,000–₹35,000, and provided him with a safer, more dignified, and stable livelihood.

The Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment highlights the success of the National Fellowship for Scheduled Caste Students (NFSC) Scheme through the academic journey of Vaishnavi, a scholar from Bengaluru. Facing severe financial constraints in funding her higher education, Vaishnavi received assistance under the NFSC Scheme starting in March 2022, which included a fellowship, House Rent Allowance, and contingency assistance totaling approximately ₹6 lakh. This financial support allowed her to overcome monetary barriers, focus on her research, successfully complete her Ph.D., and earn a doctorate degree while working toward her aspiration of becoming an agricultural scientist.

The Prime Minister recalled the transformative journey of the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) as it completed a decade since its rollout, describing it as a major turning point in India's digital payments journey. Highlighting its scale and reach over the past ten years, the Prime Minister invited citizens to share their experiences of using UPI and how the system has impacted their daily lives through social media.

Mini Devi, an OBC Ezhava community woman and homemaker from Wayanad district in Kerala, transitioned into a driving school entrepreneur through self-employment assistance provided by the National Backward Classes Finance and Development Corporation (NBCFDC) through the Kerala State Backward Classes Development Corporation (KSBCDC). She received an individual self-employment loan of Rs 3 lakh in 2025, which enabled her to purchase a training vehicle and establish Malanad Driving School. Her venture focuses on providing a supportive learning environment particularly for women learners, helping her achieve financial independence with an increased income of approximately Rs 40,000 per month.

The National Commission for Minorities (NCM) celebrated Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi at its office in New Delhi to commemorate the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad. The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs organized the Prize Distribution Function of the 58th Youth Parliament Competition (2025–26) for schools under the Directorate of Education, Government of NCT of Delhi, and the New Delhi Municipal Council at the Parliament House Complex. The Youth Parliament Programme aims to inculcate democratic values, self-discipline, tolerance for diverse opinions, and parliamentary procedures among youth.
