The Department of Justice, Ministry of Law and Justice, under the guidance of the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievance, is organizing Special Campaign 6 to institutionalize Swachhata and minimize pendency, focusing particularly on the effective collection, segregation, and disposal of e-waste. The campaign is structured into two phases: Phase-I (identification of pending matters and cleaning sites from 15.09.2026 to 30.09.2026) and Phase-II (execution of identified targets from 02.10.2026 to 31.10.2026). The National Judicial Academy (NJA) and the National Legal Services Authority of India (NALSA) are also involved, and daily progress reports will be uploaded on the DARPG web portal.

Mr. Sowndar, a 22-year-old resident of Periyampatti village in Dharmapuri district, Tamil Nadu, overcame financial constraints to become a self-reliant rural entrepreneur through financial assistance received under the MSME Loan Scheme of the National Scheduled Castes Finance and Development Corporation (NSFDC). With an assistance of Rs. 2 lakh, he established a provision store, which helped increase his monthly income from approximately Rs. 17,000 to Rs. 23,000 after repayment, thereby improving his family's economic condition and meeting daily needs.

The Ministry of Heavy Industries continues to conduct nationwide cleanliness and green initiatives under Special Campaign 6.0 and Swachhata Hi Seva 2026. Between December 2025 and August 2026, the Ministry undertook 456 campaigns, weeding out 6,115 files, freeing 6.14 lakh sq. ft. of space, and generating ₹60.34 crore through scrap disposal. During Special Campaign 5.0, the Ministry and its CPSEs secured the 6th position in revenue and 2nd position in space freed. The Ministry also observed Swachhata Pakhwada and is participating in the Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign themed 'Swachhata Mein Sahbhag, Swachh Bharat, Viksit Bharat' focusing on cleanliness, public spaces, youth engagement, and Safai Mitra welfare.

The 6th meeting of the Institute Finance Committee (IFC) of the National Homoeopathy Research Institute in Mental Health (NHRIMH), Kottayam, was held under the chairpersonship of the Joint Secretary, Ministry of Ayush. The committee reviewed financial, academic, research, infrastructural, and administrative developments, and inaugurated a Skill Laboratory for postgraduate students. Key priorities discussed included strengthening the research ecosystem for neurological and psychiatric disorders, upgrading laboratory infrastructure and quality assurance, encouraging academic collaborations, and organizing a National Conference on World Mental Health Day.

Following the nationwide Special Campaign 5.0 on Swachhata in October 2025, the Department of Military Affairs (DMA) organized 329 Swachhata campaigns between November 2025 and August 2026, reviewing 18,255 files and weeding out 8,688. To maintain momentum for the upcoming Special Campaign 6.0 scheduled from October 2 to October 31, 2026, attached and subordinate offices were directed to dedicate two hours weekly to cleanliness activities. During Special Campaign 5.0, the three Defence Forces conducted cleanliness drives across 5,274 sites, simplified 455 rules or processes, and generated Rs. 41.6489 crores in revenue from scrap disposal. Additionally, record management efforts included reviewing 7,18,898 physical files and weeding out 9,602.

The Department of Financial Services (DFS), under the Ministry of Finance, along with its attached offices and public sector financial institutions, is preparing to roll out Special Campaign 6.0 starting October 2, 2026. The initiative aims to institutionalise Swachhata and minimize operational pendency. It builds upon Special Campaign 5.0, held in October 2025, which cleaned over 41,000 sites and generated Rs. 3.20 crore through scrap disposal. Between November 2025 and August 2026, DFS sustained its drives by cleaning 968 sites, freeing 96,328 square feet of space, earning Rs. 102,344 from scrap disposal, disposing of 14,590 public grievances, and resolving 3,987 grievance appeals, with monthly progress monitored via the SCDPM portal.

The Ministry of Culture is organizing Hyderabad Liberation Day celebrations at the Secunderabad Parade Ground, with the Vice President attending as the Chief Guest. The ceremony commemorates the historic integration of the erstwhile Hyderabad State with India and honors the struggles and contributions of individuals who strengthened national unity and integrity. The event features a march-past by Central Armed Police Forces contingents, a cultural presentation themed “Hyderabad Vimochanam,” the felicitation of quiz competition winners, a collective singing of “Vande Mataram,” and a special exhibition showcasing historical episodes associated with the liberation and national unity.

The Department of Food and Public Distribution (DFPD) is preparing for Special Campaign 6, scheduled from 2nd October to 31st October 2026. The campaign focuses on institutionalizing Swachhata, clearing pending matters, record management, space optimization, e-waste disposal, and beautification of office premises. Building on the previous Special Campaign 5.0—which weeded out 1,23,853 files, freed 49,830 square feet of space, and generated Rs. 1.67 crore in revenue—the Department continued sustained efforts between November 2025 and August 2026 by freeing an additional 72,577 square feet, conducting 1,493 cleanliness drives, and generating further revenue from scrap disposal.

The Department of School Education & Literacy, Union Ministry of Education, organized a National Webinar on Solid and e-Waste Management in New Delhi as a lead-up to Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 and Special Campaign 6.0. The event emphasized environmental awareness among school students in alignment with the National Education Policy 2020 and Mission LiFE. Officials highlighted the implementation of Solid Waste Management Rules 2026, the role of Eco Clubs, and past e-waste collection achievements. A quiz competition for students in grades 6 to 12 was announced on the Eco Clubs portal, and a target of 7 lakh cleanliness campaigns was set under Special Campaign 6.0.

The Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE) and the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) are participating in Special Campaign 6.0, scheduled from 2nd October to 31st October 2026, focusing on cleanliness (Swachhata) and reducing pendency in government offices. Building upon the outcomes of Special Campaign 5.0—which involved disposing of public grievances, conducting waste-to-wealth and tree plantation activities, managing records through the e-File system, freeing up office space, and clearing scrap—DARE and ICAR aim to further strengthen efficient record management, paperless functioning, and office space utilization.

The Ministry of Civil Aviation has reported its progress under Special Campaign 5.0, covering the period from 1st November 2025 to 31st August 2026. Under the leadership of Minister Shri Ram Mohan Naidu, the Ministry focused on file weeding, cleanliness campaigns, space clearance, revenue generation through scrap disposal, and the resolution of public grievances. Key metrics include the review of thousands of physical and e-files, the freeing of approximately 18,308 sq. ft. of office space, and the generation of Rs. 41,20,582 in revenue. Additionally, the Passenger Assistance Control Room was operationalized for real-time monitoring and grievance redressal via AirSewa and CPGRAMS portals, achieving an approximate 99% grievance redressal rate.

The Department of Rural Development and the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) have signed an MoU to establish a community-based outreach mechanism of 'Pension Sakhis' across rural India. The initiative leverages the women-led Self Help Group (SHG) network under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana–National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM), including Banking Correspondent Sakhis, to expand pension awareness, financial literacy, enrolment, and post-enrolment support for retirement planning. It seeks to address limited formal financial access among rural households, utilizing digital platforms like the LoKoS system for monitoring and service delivery.

Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh unveiled key policy initiatives during the ‘VIMARSH’ DRDO-Industry Synergy Meet in New Delhi. The initiatives include a framework to lower technical and financial entry barriers for MSMEs and deep-tech start-ups, providing direct funding, incubation support, and dedicated access to DRDO testing facilities. A framework for sharing DRDO-developed software source codes with licensee industries was also launched. Additionally, nine Licensing Agreements for Transfer of Technology were handed over to manufacturing partners, and MoUs were exchanged with the Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers and Laghu Udyog Bharati to expand industry outreach.

The Chief Ministers of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Delhi, and Haryana signed the Kishau Multipurpose Project agreement in the presence of Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah and Union Jal Shakti Minister Shri C. R. Patil. Declared a national project, roughly 90 percent of its financial burden will be borne by the Government of India, with the remaining 10 percent shared by the partner states. The project entails constructing a 232.6-metre-high concrete gravity dam on the Tons River along the border of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, featuring a water storage capacity of 1,562 million cubic metres. It aims to irrigate 97,000 hectares of land, generate 1,476 million units of clean hydropower, and benefit environmental conservation and Delhi's water supply.

The Ministry of Finance announced a new UPI framework under the Payment and Settlement Systems Act, 2007, aimed at ensuring the long-term sustainability of the digital payments ecosystem while maintaining free transactions for individuals and small merchants. All person-to-person (P2P) transactions, person-to-merchant (P2M) transactions up to ₹2,000, and payments received by small merchants (including street vendors) receiving up to ₹1 lakh per month will remain completely free from Merchant Discount Rate (MDR). MDR will apply only to specified merchant transactions above ₹2,000, essential sectors, and capital markets, and customers are not required to bear this charge.

The Central Government's Scholarships for Higher Education for Young Achievers Scheme (SHREYAS), administered by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, supports the educational empowerment of Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Other Backward Classes (OBCs). From 2014-15 to 2025-26, the scheme recorded a cumulative expenditure of approximately Rs. 3,509.39 crore, benefiting 1,18,248 students. SHREYAS comprises four major components: Free Coaching for competitive examinations, Top Class Education in premier institutions, the National Overseas Scholarship Scheme (NOS) for studies abroad, and the National Fellowship for SC Students (NFSC) for advanced research. These components aim to reduce financial barriers and promote equitable access to quality education.

The Ministry of Coal has released a detailed report on the technology transformation of Coal India Limited (CIL) from conventional to smart mining. To bolster energy security, industrial growth, and sustainability, CIL is modernizing both underground and open-cast operations using advanced digital interventions such as IoT, AI, data analytics, remote sensing, and GIS. Key initiatives span resource exploration via machine learning, deployment of higher-capacity Heavy Earth Moving Machinery (HEMM), electronic detonators, First Mile Connectivity infrastructure, environmental management systems, and enterprise IT integration like SAP S/4HANA. The future roadmap includes autonomous mining, 5G networks, dry beneficiation, R&D investments through the National Centre for Coal and Energy Research (NaCCER), and collaborative Centres of Excellence.

The Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation (MoSPI) released the Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS) Monthly Bulletin for August 2026. Conducted by the National Statistical Office (NSO), the survey provides monthly and quarterly estimates of labour force indicators following the Current Weekly Status (CWS) approach. For persons aged 15 years and above, the overall Labour Force Participation Rate (LFPR) rose to 55.6% in August 2026 from 55.4% in July 2026. The overall Worker Population Ratio (WPR) increased to 52.8%, while the overall Unemployment Rate (UR) remained stable at 5.0%. Notably, rural areas observed a decline in the Unemployment Rate to 4.1%, alongside an upward momentum in female LFPR, which reached 34.8% overall.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate SEMICON India 2026 at Yashobhoomi in Dwarka, highlighting India's expanding semiconductor ecosystem under the theme "Silicon to Systems: Building the Ecosystem." India's semiconductor and electronics manufacturing sectors have seen significant growth, supported by the ₹76,000 crore Semicon 1.0 programme and the newly approved Semicon 2.0 with a ₹1,27,500 crore outlay spanning six pillars.
