Commerce and Industry Shri Piyush Goyal Chairs Chintan Shivir on Digitisation of Trade

Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Shri Piyush Goyal chaired the Bharat Commerce Chintan Shivir, a CEO roundtable convened by DPIIT and ONDC, focused on digitising India's General Trade ecosystem through ONDC DigiDukaan. The initiative aims to empower kirana retailers through digital procurement, supply-chain efficiency, and formal credit integration while strengthening existing distributor networks. As of September 2026, DigiDukaan has connected over 21,000 retailers with more than 450 brands across Hyderabad, Jaipur, and Mumbai. The roundtable highlighted five focus areas: a common digital identity, shared micro-warehousing and logistics, formal credit access, simplified technology integration through DMS connectors, and aligned commercial incentives.
