Text of PM’s address during inauguration of the Emerging Science, Technology and Innovation Conclave 2026

The Prime Minister addressed the Emerging Science, Technology and Innovation Conclave 2026, emphasizing India's transition from adopting foreign technologies to pioneering indigenous innovations in critical areas such as nuclear energy, space, artificial intelligence (AI), semiconductors, and battery storage. Highlighting achievements like the 500-Megawatt Prototype Fast Breeder Reactor reaching first criticality and advances by space start-ups, the address stressed the importance of 'Lab to Land' innovation and science for societal transformation. The Prime Minister noted the mobilization of research funding through the Anusandhan National Research Foundation, involving both government and private sector commitments, and urged scientists to balance AI adoption with independent scientific judgment while prioritizing safety and security.
