Advancing India’s Indigenous Naval Strength

Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL), a Defence Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Defence, launched the Next Generation Offshore Patrol Vessel (NGOPV) INS Srishti (Yard 1283) for the Indian Navy in Panaji, Goa. The vessel is designed for maritime surveillance, protection of offshore assets, and safeguarding maritime interests. Officials emphasized the importance of indigenous shipbuilding, digital planning, standardized designs, and timely execution under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India initiatives.
