LAUNCH OF YARD 142, AND KEEL LAYING OF YARD 144 AND 148

The Ministry of Defence announced the launching of the first Sullage Barge (Yard 142) and the keel laying of the third Sullage Barge (Yard 144) and the first Bottom Opening Dumb Barge (Yard 148) at M/s Suryadipta Projects Pvt Ltd, Thane. The contracts for the four 300T Sullage Barges and three Bottom Opening Dumb Barges were concluded with the MSME shipyard in November 2024 and January 2026, respectively. Designed and built indigenously in collaboration with an Indian Ship Design firm and the Indian Register of Shipping, these barges support Indian Navy operations, ensure compliance with MARPOL regulations, and reflect the Make in India and Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiatives.
