From Addiction To Recovery: A Young Man’s Journey Towards A New Beginning

This Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment release highlights the recovery journey of a young man named Ayaan from Kulgam, Jammu & Kashmir, who struggled with heroin addiction for nearly five years after starting with cannabis. With his family's support, he sought professional care at the Addiction Treatment Facility (ATF) in Kulgam. At the facility, he received medical treatment, supervised withdrawal management, and regular psychological counselling focusing on relapse prevention, coping mechanisms, and rebuilding self-confidence. The intervention enabled him to overcome substance dependence, regain physical and mental well-being, and work toward social reintegration.
