12TH BRICS PARLIAMENTARY FORUM TO BE INAUGURATED TOMORROW IN PARLIAMENT HOUSE COMPLEX

The Parliament of India is hosting the 12th BRICS Parliamentary Forum in the Parliament House Complex, centered on the theme “Strengthening Parliaments for People-Centric Development.” Ahead of the forum, Lok Sabha Speaker Shri Om Birla held bilateral discussions with parliamentary delegations from Russia, Cuba, Egypt, and Belarus. During the meeting with the Russian delegation led by State Duma Chairman H.E. Mr. Vyacheslav Volodin, discussions focused on India's BRICS Presidency in 2026, combating terrorism, strengthening global institutional reforms including United Nations Security Council membership for India, and parliamentary diplomacy. The two-day forum includes high-level thematic sessions, parallel meetings, cultural events, and a special meeting of International Affairs Committee Chairpersons.
