The Viksit Bharat - Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) (VB-G RAM G) Act, 2025, which came into force on July 1, 2026, succeeded Mahatma Gandhi NREGA as part of the Viksit Bharat @2047 vision. The framework provides a statutory guarantee of 125 days of wage employment per financial year for rural households whose adult members volunteer for unskilled manual work. It focuses on water security, core rural infrastructure, livelihood-related infrastructure, and extreme weather mitigation. Grassroots planning is institutionalized through Viksit Gram Panchayat Plans (VGPPs), leveraging tools like GIS, Yuktdhara, and PM Gati Shakti for asset mapping, gap assessment, and convergence. Implementation relies on technology for digital verification, geo-tagging, electronic Measurement Books, and Direct Benefit Transfer payments.
