Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah attended the inauguration and foundation-stone laying ceremony of Yamuna rejuvenation-related projects worth ₹8,941 crore in Delhi. The event included 10 inaugurated projects and 33 initiated projects focused on sewage treatment plants (STPs), sewer line connectivity, drainage, and waste management. According to government statements, a joint roadmap has been established by the Centre along with the governments of Delhi, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh to clean the Yamuna by 2029. The release also highlights garbage clearance efforts in Delhi, including the reduction of waste mountains at Okhla, Bhalswa, and Ghazipur.
