Vice-President Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan Inaugurates Conference on Cooperative Federalism and Law Reforms in New Delhi

The Vice-President of India inaugurated the conference on 'Co-operative Federalism and Law Reforms: National and State Perspective', organised by the Law Commission of India in New Delhi. He emphasized the spirit of 'Team India', urging greater consultation, coordination, and shared responsibility between the Centre and States. Highlighting legal reforms as crucial for Viksit Bharat @2047, he noted the replacement of three colonial-era criminal laws and the repeal of over 1,700 obsolete laws over the past twelve years. Furthermore, he called upon State Law Commissions to identify and recommend the removal of outdated laws to enhance ease of living, efficient governance, and coordination among law bodies.
