Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare to Launch ‘Khet Bachao Abhiyan – Rabi 2026’ tomorrow; Campaign to Continue Till 30 November

The Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare is launching the nationwide 'Khet Bachao Abhiyan – Rabi 2026' campaign from 22 October to 30 November 2026, initiated by Union Agriculture Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan from Karnal, Haryana. The campaign focuses on promoting sustainable agriculture, improving soil health, and encouraging the judicious use of agricultural resources based on soil testing. Key objectives include promoting crop diversification through oilseed, pulse, and horticulture missions, effective utilization of paddy fallow fields, proper crop residue management, natural farming, water conservation, and integrated pest and nutrient management. It also integrates existing welfare frameworks such as the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY), Kisan Credit Card (KCC) saturation, and the creation of Farmer IDs through collaborative outreach involving State departments, Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs), and ICAR institutes.
