IITM Hosts First Stakeholder Consultation Meeting on Climate Science into Services for India Forum (CSSIF)

The Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM), Pune, under the Ministry of Earth Sciences, organized the First Stakeholder Consultation Meeting of the Climate Science into Services for India Forum (CSSIF) on 17 October 2026. The meeting convened over 150 participants from more than 80 institutions—spanning government ministries, operational agencies, research bodies, NGOs, civil society, and the private sector—to bridge climate science with practical services. Technical and sectoral discussions focused on weather and climate products, data models, a Climate Services Information System (CSIS), health impacts of climate extremes, energy, finance, agriculture, disaster management, and coastal vulnerability to support policy-relevant information and informed decision-making.
