Ministry of Education, constitutes Three Member Committee to examine student death at IIIT, Ranchi

The Ministry of Education has constituted a three-member committee, chaired by Prof. Rajni Abbi (Director, South Campus, University of Delhi) along with a senior psychiatrist and a senior ministry officer, to examine the circumstances surrounding a student death at the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Ranchi. The committee is mandated to assess guideline implementation regarding basic facilities, institutional support, counselling, mentoring, and grievance redressal mechanisms, as well as to identify systemic gaps and recommend measures to prevent future incidents. Additionally, the Ministry is undertaking interim administrative arrangements for the institute.
