TRAI Assesses Mobile Network Quality Across Thrissur District, Kerala LSA

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) released the findings of an Independent Drive Test (IDT) conducted across Thrissur District and the Kochi-Thrissur-Calicut highway route in the Kerala Licensed Service Area (LSA) during July 2026. The testing evaluated real-time mobile network quality, covering voice and data services provided by major Telecom Service Providers (TSPs) across 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G networks. Assessed metrics included coverage gaps, call setup success rates, dropped call rates, call silence instances, and data download and upload throughputs. The findings have been shared with the respective TSPs to enable service improvements.
