Raksha Mantri felicitates Services athletes for record 27-medal haul at 2026 Asian Games

Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh felicitated defence forces athletes for achieving a record 27-medal haul (06 Gold, 11 Silver, and 10 Bronze) at the 2026 Asian Games in Japan. The event was also graced by Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution Shri Pralhad Joshi. A total of 92 athletes from the three Services competed across 19 disciplines, contributing 32 percent to India's total medal tally. Notable individual performances included Naib Subedar Neeru Dhanda, Naib Subedar Gulveer Singh, Havildar Sawan Barwal, and Naib Subedar Sarvesh Kushare. The Raksha Mantri highlighted the role of the Mission Olympic Wing and reiterated the government's focus on building a robust sporting ecosystem while urging preparation for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
