Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change interacted with participants of the Mid-Career Training (MCT) Phase-III (19) of the Indian Forest Service in New Delhi. The Minister highlighted India's progress in wildlife conservation, forest and tree cover increase, carbon sequestration, and wetland conservation through initiatives like Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam, MISHTI, Aravalli Green Wall, and Nagar Van Yojana. He urged IFS officers to move beyond traditional regulatory functions, adopt emerging technologies like GIS, remote sensing, and artificial intelligence, and address challenges such as human-wildlife conflict, forest fires, and climate change. The MCT programme, organized by IGNFA from 12th October to 6th November 2026, aims to strengthen leadership, strategic policy execution, and field-level forest governance for officers with 7–9 years of service.
