Prime Minister Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana (PMDDKY)
The Prime Minister Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana (PMDDKY) is a six-year initiative launched on October 11, 2025, following its Union Cabinet approval on July 16, 2025. It targets 100 Aspirational Agricultural Districts identified using indicators like low productivity, low cropping intensity, and less agricultural credit disbursement, ensuring every State has at least one district selected. Implemented through the convergence of 36 Central schemes across 11 Ministries and Departments alongside State schemes and private participation, the scheme addresses gaps in productivity, irrigation, credit access, and post-harvest infrastructure via District Action Plans. Progress is tracked through a three-tier administrative structure and 121 indicators. Marking its first anniversary in October 2026, the scheme has shown improved average district scores and fostered local agricultural growth through Farmer Producer Organisations.
