Union Minister Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia Inaugurates Workshop on 5G Use Case Labs at IMC 2026; Highlights Role of Young Innovators in Advancing India’s 5G and 6G Vision

Union Minister for Communications Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia inaugurated the Workshop on 5G Use Case Labs at the 10th edition of India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2026. The event highlighted the role of 100 5G Use Case Labs established across academic institutions under a government initiative with an outlay of ₹97.67 crore to foster research, industry-academia collaboration, and indigenous technology development for 5G Advanced and 6G eras. During the workshop, the Minister awarded winners of the 5G Innovation Hackathon (Edition-2) 2026, distributed completion certificates to Department of Telecommunications (DoT) officers who completed a specialised Capacity Development Programme on Network and Mobile Security, and emphasized building trusted, indigenous intelligent networks toward the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047.
