INAUGURATION OF PROJECT SEABIRD INFRASTRUCTURE BY GENERAL N S RAJA SUBRAMANI, CDS AND SECRETARY, DMA

General N S Raja Subramani, Chief of Defence Staff and Secretary, Department of Military Affairs, inaugurated residential accommodation and critical infrastructure under Project Seabird Phase IIA at the Naval Base in Karwar. The newly inaugurated facilities include residential towers for Senior Sailors and Naval Defence Civilians, inliving accommodation for DSC personnel, and a KG School, constructed by M/s NCC Ltd and M/s Cemindia Projects India Ltd. Phase IIA of Project Seabird supports the basing of ships and submarines and includes a dual-use Naval Air Station, a Naval Dockyard, and logistics facilities. The project conforms to MoEF&CC and Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) norms to achieve an IGBC Gold rating and aligns with Aatmanirbhar Bharat by sourcing over 90% of its materials domestically.
