From Recovery to Renewed Livelihood

The Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment highlighted the case of a 34-year-old self-employed professional in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, who overcame substance dependence through support from Concern, a Drug De-Addiction Centre (DDAC). The intervention comprised regular counselling, medical treatment, spirituality-based support, structured follow-up sessions, and participation in Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) meetings. Through this sustained rehabilitation support, the individual managed to overcome relapse, restart his company, regain financial stability, and support his family while maintaining his recovery journey.
