NISD To Organise Five-Day Geriatric Care Training Programme In Diu Tomorrow

The National Institute of Social Defence (NISD), under the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, is organizing a five-day Geriatric Care Training Programme in Diu District in collaboration with the Office of the Collector, Diu. The programme aims to build the capacity of around 50 Anganwadi workers, frontline functionaries, and grassroots-level workers in basic geriatric care, early identification of care needs, and referral support. It covers physical, psychological, and social dimensions of ageing, daily living assistance, safety, and awareness of government schemes for senior citizens to strengthen community-based support systems.
