Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi interacted with Global System for Mobile Communications Association (GSMA) Board members ahead of the India Mobile Congress 2026. During the interaction, the Prime Minister emphasized that technology should serve as a tool for inclusive and sustainable development, stressing the democratization of technology, affordability, accessibility for the Global South, and last-mile reach. He highlighted the potential of Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) for developing countries and called for technology-driven solutions, user awareness, and origin-identification mechanisms to tackle cyber fraud, deepfakes, and AI-generated content. GSMA Board members acknowledged India's digital transformation, mobile connectivity expansion, investment-friendly policies, and potential for international cooperation in 5G, 6G, AI, and cybersecurity.
