TRAI Assesses Mobile Network Quality Across Balasore City under OD LSA, during the month of August 2026

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) released the findings of an Independent Drive Test (IDT) conducted across Balasore City under the Odisha Service Area (OD LSA) in August 2026. Supervised by the TRAI Regional Office Hyderabad and executed through an appointed agency, the drive tests evaluated mobile network performance across a 345 km city route and 7 hotspot locations. The assessment captured real-time quality parameters for both voice and data services—including signal coverage, call drop rates, call setup success rates, call silence instances, and data download and upload throughput—across multiple telecom service providers (Airtel, BSNL, RJIL, and VIL) operating on 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G networks. The findings have been shared with the respective telecom service providers for necessary action.
